How do you find a ghost writer? Far more books than you might imagine are ghost written. Novels. Romances. Non-fiction books "by" consultants or other kinds of expert, who need to be "the person who wrote the book," but can't actually write one. So how do you find a ghost writer? And what will the ghost writer do? This video will tell you.

How much do you charge as a ghost writer?

I get the going rate for advances for mid-range authors. I'm not cheap; most of my customers are publishing companies who know what a good job costs.

Is Ghostrighting this. So basically Say I made a diss track or a song and I didn’t write the lyrics and someone else wrote the lyrics. Would that be ghostwriter??

Yes. As long as, when you made the track, you said you had written it and no-one argued. Any time someone is paid for writing something that is published with someone else's name on it - that's ghost writing.

Do you write a book with an author or for an author? I mean do you write the entire book or just some parts of it? Second, how can you show this in resume since, you can't share your work? I mean in resume we write about our achievements and experiences. But, as a ghostwriter you sign a contract with an author for whom you are writing a book, you can never claim that book to be your work in public.

I've done both - whatever the author wants. I've written a novel from scratch when all I'd been given was a brief outline of the main character and five sentences to describe what happens; I've also taken 100,000 words that the author had already written and acted as a "Book Doctor" transforming something that really wasn't very good into something that sold 80,000 copies. And you're right - I can never tell people what I've written. If I did that, I'd never get another job. So I keep online portfolios of what I've written as me: tinyurl.com/y5cb69ty (Fiction) and tinyurl.com/y9nen284 (non-fiction). That shows prospective customers what I can do. And then there's usually a trial - so, for a book I'm writing right now, the author told me and some other writers what she was looking for and then asked us to write 500 words to see whether we could capture the tone she wanted. I was closest to what she wanted and I got the job. Does that answer the questions?

Do you write fantasy? How much is your bill?
@johnlynchauthor952
@johnlynchauthor952 5 жыл бұрын
I have written fantasy when that was what the publisher wanted - in fact, I'm writing a fantasy novel now. When you say 'What is your bill?' do you mean how much do I charge? That depends on the project - particularly on how long the book is going to be, but also on other factors.
