I am 49, I saw the original in the theater, I’ve been a fan since then. In 2015 I joined a fan franchise group with a lot of other big fans. I saw afterlife in an advanced screening last night with my 19 year old son, I was on the edge of my seat the entire time and during the climatic scene towards the end, you’ll know it when you see it, or if you saw it, gasped out loud and started sobbing ! My son had to ask if I was okay! I loved this movie so much I will definitely see it a few more times in the theater and I highly recommend this film to fans and their children, it’s amazing! I can’t wait to take my grandson to see it!

I was 6yrs old when my mom took me to see Ghostbusters II back in in 89. Ghostbusters was a huge part of my childhood. I'm nearly 40 now & will be taking my daughter & my mom to watch afterlife. Definitely the most anticipated movie of the year for me.

Great review Shaun!! I absolutely can't wait to watch the movie tonight!!! I was born in 1985, and have been a massive Ghostbusters fan since I have been 5 years old. My Stepdad had a substantial VHS collection, and among those were Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters 2, and two tapes of the animated series that contained 3 episodes a piece. I watched all of them over and over again to the point of wearing out the tapes, and my Stepdad had to replace them! Like you, I know that I am going to absolutely eat up the fan service, and I will probably end up crying at the end. Thanks for the review, and take care sir!

In the early late 1990's or 2000's, I distinctly remember when my dad rented the VHS 📼 tapes and we watched both movies in the same night. From then on I was just hooked and fell in love with characters and world. I'm very interested in seeing this installment.

I owned the game in 2009 and then I bought the remastered version in 2019, I loved the 2016 movie when I saw it in the theater, I can’t stand it now. 15 turning 16 in March. Ghostbusters Afterlife throughly enjoyed it. MUCH better then I expected. My friend and I went to see Ghostbusters Afterlife with our moms friday (Black Friday, nov 26). Both of us fell in love with ghostbusters through the LEGO game called “LEGO dimensions.” I fell in love with it when I was 12 and decided to have my 13 birthday to be me and some friends (not including the one I went to see Afterlife) watching the first film which I got for said birthday. It’s been a cherished favorite ever since.

Best Ghostbusters movie since the first one by far. The child actors were great, it was a perfect love letter to the original, and it was also a heartwarming tribute to Harold Raymis. I didn’t exactly grow up on Ghostbusters, I first saw it in 2015, but I absolutely loved this movie.

My favorite Uncle took me to see The Natural and then he let me choose and we saw Ghostbusters. So glad we did because it's still a part of our culture and brings back memories of someone who was like a father to me.

I'm really not interested in this film (22 years old for reference). I absolutely love the original Ghostbusters but I think as a franchise it's pretty bad. GB 2 is a shallow imitation of the first and the less said about the 2016 one the better. We went nearly 30 years without a ghostbusters film bc it's just not a property that I think lends itself to being a franchise. The trailers for this one also really didn't excite me. That said, I'm glad a lifelong fan like you got a lot of enjoyment out of it!

I'm 36 and I can't wait to see this movie!! I've been a huge fan since I was 5 years old. Honestly, while being far from perfect, Ghostbusters 2 is a very entertaining movie that has a lot of redeeming qualities, like having a way better villain than the first movie, every scene involving Peter MacNicol, and having the scariest scene in the franchise,(Egon, Ray, and Winston in the sewers.)You also didn't mention the 2 animated shows, the 2009 videogame, and the IDW comics, all of which are excellent!!

I've seen all four Ghostbusters films new in theatres, so I go way back with it. I was a teen still when the first one came out. Regarding Afterlife.. Had a lot of fun with it. It started out slow but once it got going it got prettty good. Hits all the fanboy points you’d want. I can see where some wouldn't like it, and if you pay attention too closely, it has some holes - but what movie doesn't, really? But it was an enjoyable piece of fan service that I thought worked well. One thing I'll point out - I didn't realize that the main kid Phoebe was played by the same actress who played the smart kid that Sheldon Cooper didn't get along with in Young Sheldon. Totally missed that, didn't realize it until I got home and started reading about the movie.

Born in 86. Grew up with the films and especially The Real Ghostbusters cartoon. Huge part of childhood with a plethora of toys and that has continued into adulthood. Appreciate the 2016 film but really, this is as close to what I would’ve wanted as we could have gotten. I felt this was a lot of fan service and for that I am really appreciative. If I had any guffs, I would’ve preferred more screen time with the originals but though they stole all of their scenes. All in all, I loved this film!

19 years old, watched the original with my brother about 10 years ago and fell in love. This movie was fun and interesting and blended original content and fan service well. I loved it! Best in the series since the original. it's not perfect, the tone feels off at times, and some scenarios could be avoided if people had eyes, but that's just personal criticism. I'd give it a 7.5 - 8, depending on my feelings upon rewatch. Still a great time at the movies.

Had an absolute blast watching it in theatres! I only started watching ghostbusters in 2016. the first one I watched was the awful 2016 Melissa McCarthy one in theatres with my parents. Highly recommend watching this one in theatres. It comes with a great performance from McKenna Grace!

I'm 21 and I didn't start watching ghostbusters until I was 11. I remember watching the first two movies one night on nickatnite. Neither of my parents had introduced me to the films prior so I was going in as a newbie on my own. Since then I've been a fan for like 10 years now. If I had a list of movies that I watched for the first time on nickatnite it be only down to the back to the future trilogy, the first two ghostbusters movies, and Men in Black 2 which the later I was like around 9 or 10.

I love the original film so much and as a sequel to that film, I fell in love with it. The Easter eggs and cameos made me smile. Really loved this one. Highly recommend giving it love

I'm 52 and saw the original GB when it hit theatres and fell in love with it. I also loved GB2 even though it got some flack from critics. However am I pumped to see this new GB movie .... no. And Sean sums up why right at the start of this vid. The original two movies were about a group of middle aged drop outs who made it good fighting ghosts in New York. This new movie is about a single mother and a group of kids. It is a totally different dynamic from the first original movies and that alone will possibly make a lot of fans not be so enthused to see this movie. Simply dropping in a ton of Easter eggs does not make a good sequel movie, in fact it could be seen as a lazy way to get the fans on board. I will go see this movie as I am a completist, the same reason I forced myself to go see GB 2016 which I hated, but I do not hold out hope. I know the reason why the studio decided to go with kids, the ever popular Hollywood excuse of 'we're trying to find a younger fan base for this IP', but they seem to forget that shoving kids into a movie does NOT necessarily get younger people on board. I was 16 when I saw the original GB and loved it and a load of the fans were even younger than that and loved it too and there wasn't a kid in the entire movie. It's not about putting in kids, its about making an entertaining movie that is total escapism so people can, for a couple of hours, escape the real world. They do not want to 'connect' with what they see on screen, they don't want to watch the trials of a single mom raising kids, not in this kind of movie, they want to see something they don't have to deal with in their lives or on their tv screen at home.

I'm in my late 30's and pretty much grew up with the first two movies, I took both of my nephews both 12 and 13 years old to see this one and we all loved it😁 Paul Rudd was excellent as he often is showing horror movies to children 😂 that was hilarious, the Classic characters were all great but the little girl was the star of this film hands down, and I loved how much it countines on the lore we have the return of Goeser and the hell hounds it just works, would have loved a cameo from Rick Mornasis but he really doesn't act much these days so he wasn't available and the dedication to the late Harold Ramos was a nice touch this was the sequel that Dan Akaroyd had in mind all those years ago and I'm glad that it finally came out, he was top form as always a real joy to have in the movie ( sorry I'm writing a novel here) Ghostbusters is a great franchise and I hope that as the years go on there will be more of these film like this one

I'm very excited to see this tomorrow night. The OG (and to a lesser extent the sequel) was one of my favorite childhood movies. I also used to love and watch the cartoon in the 80s. I hated the 2016 version with a passion, so I hope this is the new Ghostbusters movie I've been waiting for.
