@@DMSL2007 Nah, objectively the deluxe offering is superior. You get the whole Ghostbusters team, the ghosts, the option parts, effects and the early bird if possible. That's insane, especially if you look at the Mondo Ghostbusters that want 800 dollars just for the whole team and 4 ghosts.

Classic sales tactic. Base model is overpriced so the deluxe looks generous. The first film is more popular so it is the pricey stuff. The second film will sell better as an "add-on", plus all the figs are mostly repaints. The car changing feature adds to the cost but they're selling to the hardcore who will buy two anyway. All smart money making tactics Hasbro.

I’m confused. How do you swap out the classic logo and add the 1A caution tape and lettering? Or will they be permanently there on the deluxe body? If so, why include the original roof gear?

Two separate campaigns. One for the base set (GB1 version of the car, gurney, library ghost, Slimer). One for the deluxe set (GB2 Version of the car with swappable roofing and GB2 sticker sheet, dark grey GB2 suit figures, slime blowers, plasma and slime streams, Louis Tully figure in jumpsuit, ghost trap, thermal mug and balloon for the kids + everything from the base set).

I always liked Ecto-1A. The addition of hazard striping along the body and the new lights and technical equipment along with a message board on the roof gave the entire car which had a larger than life, a new and improved vibe and rightfully so since it was in a sequel. Not unlike the DeLorean time machine's hover capability and Mr. Fusion in Back to the Future Part II.

I honestly wish we could have both movie versions of the Ecto-1 through totally interchangeable parts. It's going to be a bummer applying 2nd movie stickers, because then the more iconic look from the 1st film will no longer be possible.

@hasbropulse I'm interested, but I need more information please. Is this a die cast model (like the Hot Wheels Elite Ecto-1) or plastic? Are the decals for the 1A conversion ordinary stickers that can't be swapped back and forth?

I would not expect it to be die cast. The Star Wars cantina project was 500$ and it was all plastic parts. The ecto 1 is almost 2 feet long. Die Cast would almost make the price tag worth it but sadly that's how how the newer haslab projects are. Just premium priced limited pre-orders or regular toys.

@@chamoo232 You're right, it does look like plastic in other videos. I think I prefer my die cast1:18 Hot Wheels Elite Ecto-1 over this new HasLab... even if the lights are amazing, I think it's just too big.

@@EatonCorvinus I have the small 60$ Plasma Series one. It doesn't have lights but for the price difference it will have to do. The scaled figures for it are shipping in a few months too. I think Haslab should have made 2 versions at 300$ each. A GB1 and GB2 version that each include the 4 ghostbusters from their movies. Then make the Librarian, Slimer and Louis figures be tier unlocks for reaching certain goals. Because of the decals, it doesn't really feel like switching between GB1 and 2 looks will be that easy so they should have just made a GB2 version and print the yellow lines on the body and charge the same price.

I was tempted to back two ectomobiles one base model and one deluxe. In the end I backed the deluxe version. Had I backed two different versions I would’ve had two librarian and two Slimer figures and I don’t need duplicate figures. I have the original Plasma Series Ghostbusters by the way which is why I was backing the Ectomobile Haslab in the first place.

Ernie Hudson auditioned to reprise his roll as Winston Zeddemore on _The Real Ghostbusters._ However, the casting director passed on Hudson and the roll went to Arsenio Hall. I know you're trippin'. The powers at be thought Arsenio Hall could do a better job at being Winston than the dude who actually played him in a live action film. Arsenio provided the voice talents for Winston for a few years before he moved on to a better paying, (higher profile,) job. Anyway, I'd always thought it would be cool to get an Arsenio Hall portrait on a Ghostbusters figure.

I'm so mad at this. First I'm mad because it doesn't have the classic tan jumpers for everyone. Second I'm mad, because I really want to buy it anyway! If they had a Janine Unlock with her outfit from the cartoon, this would be a grand slam! This is actually the type of project that you can sell a few waves of extra figures for, no problem afterward.
