They recently removed Shrek 4-D, Monster Cafe, and Kongfrontation has been long gone…only for them to make Kong Skull Island, Shrek having a whole immersive area in the upcoming Dreamworks Land, and Epic Universe getting a whole new Monsters themed land. I think the chances are pretty high! Universal isn’t afraid to bring back older properties and expand upon them/make them even more thrilling!

I like the way you think! I wouldn't mind the old Post Production show with current TV shows and I still miss the Hitchcock Theater. They missed the boat on nostalgia with closing the _Day In The Park with Barney._ That opened 29 years ago in 2024. Kids that saw the show when they were little would be parents and bringing their own kids to sit where they did when they saw the show.

Technically Ghostbusters already has a shooting dark ride. I got to experience it at Heide Park in Germany, and it’s a pretty solid attraction

Oh I absolutely hope these rumors are true. I means, it would make more sense for BTTF since it actually IS a Universal property, and the thought is that the licensing of the Simpsons may be running out, but Ghostbusters is funny because after watching the Super Bowl commercial advertising the new Twister movie, I joked with my family how it was now time to get rid of Jimmy Fallon, and replace it with Twister again. Sorta like how they got rid of Kong, replaced with Mummy, only to bring back Kong once the rebooted movie came out.

I'd love for them to bring back Ghostbusters Spooktacular. I was never the biggest fan of Twister because I rode when it was Ghostbusters and it was so much better. Anytime someone asks what attraction from Universal I would bring back, I say Ghostbusters every time. Granted I was probably 9-10 when I went I watched it so there may be some rose-tinted glasses going on, but it was amazing for what it was at the time.

As a theme park history nerd, the idea of literally any park bringing back classic rides and attractions has always been more wishful thinking for me. But the fact that universal understands the market for nostalgia and is bringing this stuff back in any capacity at all is HUGE. Can’t wait to see where they will take this.

I loved the ghostbusters films as a kid. I never got to go to universal studios when it was in the park. So, I would love to see universal bring back the ghostbusters. Whether it was for HHNs or as a full ride. Maybe they could do something similar to forbidden journey, but ghostbusters themed?

Interesting... I actually like Rocket so I don't want to see it go, but a re-theme would be fine. Also, they could actually do a mini land with Ghostbusters as the theme by going behind Rocket and taking over the old Blueman group and Nickelodeon buildings. That's a nice little chunk. They could re invent Poseidon's and give a dark show where the crowd follows the Ghostbusters through a ghost infested NY underground subway with a big boss battle at the end fighting Stay Puff. Real props, animatronics, 3D screens, etc. I loved how Poseidon got the crowd involved and made you feel like you were in the middle of an adventure.

If anything, they'll be in the parade and do daily meet and greets. If the new movie takes off and is successful, I could potentially see them re-theming MIB to Ghostbusters, but that's a big "if".

I saw video documentary that basically said they are abandoned, especially the old Nick Studio bldg. On a final note I actually heard Ghostbusters may be going to Universal Great Britain. Universal did say they want different IP in that park.

When ghostbusters afterlife was out Jason Reitman told universal to contact him and he wants to help them make a ghostbusters ride for universal. He thinks a "chase the ghosts in ecto" ride could be fun. Think mario kart but shooting ghosts or a coaster like ride could be fun. We don't know if universal took him up on his offer to help create the ride.

If Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is a big hit, I would love to see Universal explore what they could do with a Ghostbusters dark ride. Get rid of Rip Ride Rockit and knock down some of the sound stages behind the original firehouse in New York. Plenty of room back there!

​@@kingofkeyblades775Interesting... Dark Universe is an obvious choice, but perhaps Universal could do a Halloween event in each land. DU is too small to have the entire event. Plus it would disperse the crowd. And last, maybe the sell ticket packages that include one land or multiple. This way a young family can buy a ticket to a less scary park event like, HTTYD or SNW. Maybe take business from Legoland Brick or Treat event and Mickey's Not So Scary.

Here’s what you do. Bring them back for the parade and meet-n-greets. Gauge public reception and if it’s positive enough, give the green light for a full on Ghostbusters mini-land within the New York land of USF. Have HHN take place at Epic Universe for the next few years while demolition and construction happen as they knock down some soundstages (keeping one or two for HHN and other purposes) maybe replace RRR and Jimmy Fallon, and use some backstage area that’s possibly vacant since a lot of those backstage facilities will be relocated to Epic Universe. You could fit 2-3 rides in that area themed to Ghostbusters that could include a dark ride, flat ride, and maybe a new coaster since RRR being torn down would leave a need for a new coaster in the park.
