I went to bath a number of years ago. I’m from the states and traveled with a relative to bath. While she was working I took a train out to Bath. Absolutely loved it. But I found the people quite rude and not much help if I asked. Also went to a little pub waiting for the train back to Winchester. The gentleman was not busy. He didn’t want to wait on me. Yes I went up to the bar. I finally got a beer after 45 minutes while he visited with others. I was a single woman on my own. Not really sure why he was so unfriendly.

Oh, no! I lived most of my life there, Sherry. I'm so sorry you had this negative experience. That saddens me. But tbf this is a a provincial city, the surly landlord would have been polishing glasses with a greasy rag, and muttering 'Aargh' a lot anywhere else in Wessex. 😢 that said, I lived in a haunted flat, it was only years later that I spoke with my then flatmate and he told me the reason he was always staying at his girlfriend's flat was because of the strange feelings of being watched, followed, and mysterious dark shadows often seen flitting over an ornate mirror.. yikes. Thought that may entertain you. Love and light. ❤

@@sherryrutledge8792 I’m sorry you had such an unfortunate experience. I live in Bath, after living in about 6 different English cities, and the people here are the kindest most friendly of anywhere I’ve lived. Our main industry is tourism, so we respect that of course, but sometimes we find people forget it’s a living city not a theme park, and people are trying to get to work or the pharmacy when folk are standing around taking photos. We also get incredibly busy during the summer months, and having worked bars here too, it can get very overwhelming. I’m by no means trying to dismiss your experience at all, and it’s genuinely upset me to hear that. I’m just want to defend the city that’s welcomed a single woman with a disability with open arms, and am hoping other people reading this might give us a chance, while keeping us Bathonians in mind.

I was in the army, and my wife and I were in our last married quarters. within a week or so it started, poltergeist activity. Slamming doors, moving and thumping furniture, things disappearing, (though I got the blame for that). After a few weeks it died down to nothing.

Funnily enough I’m going to Bath tomorrow as I only live down the road in Bristol! Great video as always on this channel; love the paranormal and great to be informed of the historical contexts surrounding some of these apparitions. I wondered if maybe you’d consider doing a ‘ghosts of Bristol’ video as I understand the nearby city also has a lot of ghostly sightings and historical buildings, particularly around the harbour - from various things I’ve heard growing up here! …Gloucestershire also has a lot of ghosts, particularly somewhere like Woodchester mansion.

36:21 I always thought that Governor Phillip must have been quite brave and truly bold, to be the first to attempt to govern such a wild country. Maybe just a tad crazy, the way that some explorers and adventurous souls seem to be. I always had a liking for him. It was great to hear his post-mortem tale. And the Australian actress who experienced the spirit on stage. Death and ghosts and things that go bump in the night don’t tend to talk about such things. Here’s the thing, most people who deny these things, will at some point, tell you something that starts with “ You won’t believe this but a couple of nights ago, just as I was going to bed. . . . “ ( this is were their personal ghost story begins ). I’m sure you’ve had similar experiences. Thanks for sharing, it was well worth the wait. Blessings,❤.

Thank you so much Nicola. As always, I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Bath is such a picturesque, old city. So wonderful. I was particularly intrigued to hear of the ghosts and strange happenings going on in the Theatre Royale. It seems that so many odd occurrences and Paranormal things happen ib old theatres and such. The butterfly occurrences were particularly interesting. What you call the Tortoise shell butterfly is very close in appearance to the Monarch Butterfly, and its been long known that Butterflies can signify death, or, as I was told by my Mum, butterflies are a sign of a loved one who has passed, and who is watching over you and wanting to stay close. Showing themselves to let you know they are ok in the afterlife, and making sure that you aren still ok. Fascinating stuff. There are stories also of the Orillia Opera House, very close to where i live, and the paranormal happenings thay go on there. Again, another venue of plays and musicals. Thank you again so much for this new episode. It was awesome. And Ilove the footnotes at the end. As always, a great addition

Thank you James. This is very interesting and I didn’t know that about butterflies and their significance in that respect. I am a local to Bath, my father was fortunate enough to help restore some of the woodwork at the Roman Baths. He was working overnight as to avoid the public. He happened to wander down in to the Crypt while taking a stroll on one of his breaks, he was walking up the steps out of the crypt when he got all the usual tropes of a paranormal incident; cold chills, feeling of unease. Anyway he turned around and he swears blind he saw a man in roman robes following him up the steps, he upped the pace considerably, turned around and the man was gone. He then went and spoke to the night watchman who then told him he categorically refuses to go in to the crypt. My father had always dismissed the supernatural prior to this, but he is absolutely convinced to this day he witnessed a spirit that night.

You should and definitely have a look at some of these places if you can. They’re all fairly close together. There probably will be more stories from Bath in the Ghosts of Somerset in the future 👻🙋♀️

Bath is such a beautiful city. I enjoyed our visits there immensely. Went to all the haunted places but didn’t encounter anything, sadly! Thanks for this interesting video. 👍

As usual another fantastic job in the making of this video. You definitely have a gift for telling the history in such a perfect way. Not too short or lengthy making the hauntings that much more authentic. On that note... Not having any choice but waiting in anticipation of the next read. Thank you so much.

The bath does not cure everything, but if you have poliomyelitis or arthritis then that's the place to be....you do such great videos thankyou so much, especially for people like me I like in Australia, so will never get to visit Europe so I love seeing your wonderful videos.....Love and Peace to everyone in these scary and painful times we live in....

Thank you so much. I think the people just lived in hope that the hot water would help but in reality I doubt it did. Although people do spend money on these salt crystals for baths don’t they? I am glad you like the videos and I would like to cover some Australian ghost stories in the future for sure. 👻🙋♀️

Hi Nicola, awesome live ghost stories. I enjoyed it. How are you and Moonie your cat doing? I'm doing well. My cat Benjamin is doing well also. I have another ghost story this time to tell you. This has been happening for years since i moved into my apartment seven years ago. Every morning after 6 am, I hear thumping noises coming from my neighbor upstairs. The thumping noises happens every morning after 6 am. For a few seconds, then everything goes quiet after that. My neighbor said to me the other day that he could have a ghost in his apartment. I found that very interesting. Anyways that's the story. All your live ghost stories are always enjoyable. Have a great day. See you next video 😊

Moonie is doing ok. She’s old but still going well for her age. She’s eating, drinking and she’s still able to walk and purr without any pain. She’s a bit of a trip hazard but, for 20, she’s going like a Trojan!

I can imagine Admiral Phillip being eternally put out that someone dared to share his favourite room, even in his death. I'm sure Admirals and Governors of the time were very pompous asses indeed. Imagine feeling so important that your inner disgust carries forward into the afterlife. Admirable 🙂

got a cat? =) 32:48 ? when i was about 3-4 years old, I saw huge figures in black tattered cloaks, every day. they had no faces, didn't talk and only stared at me. I could only see them in the house we were living in at that time. when we moved on my fifth birthday, they disappeared forever. somehow I wasn't spooked by them at all 😀
@ghostcasebook1266 Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment and yes, my cat was a bit vocal at the end of this video. I usually fill her up with food in an effort to make her go to sleep while I make videos, but she wasn’t having any of it! Interestingly, I have a friend who (as a young girl) lived in a rather grand house in Hampshire as a child and she used to see a man in a frock coat and top hat on a specific staircase in the house once every two years or so. He looked like a coachman apparently. Interesting you have a similar experience and my friend wasn’t spooked at all either! 👻🙋♀️
@las10plagas Жыл бұрын
@@ghostcasebook1266 :D you fill her up, to make her go to sleep. that's super cute =) my cat is very vocal, too but the sweetest cat imaginable : ) I think when we are young, the things we see, become normal to us, as we are exploring the world around us. so even something creepy becomes part of our normal life. I can't remember much of these "hooded men" as I called them, only how they were always surrounding me and never interacted with my parents or anyone else AND of course I remember how they looked, very well. thank you for your reply =)
