It's a nice video. However, it's a shame KZbin does not allow use of the correct word in the first story. "Seduce" goes nowhere near the sheer violence and horror of a person being r@ped. As I mentioned, though, it is a nice video.

You are 100% right about the language and I hate not being able to use the correct terms but you are bang on about the ‘rules’ of the platform. I appreciate your kind comment about the video and subtle way you pointed out the language point. Merry Christmas my friend 👻🙋‍♀️🎄

How stupid that I can't use the word, even if I'm talking about the plant. For the act, "ravished" or "violated" gets the point across and probably wouldn't be flagged.

It is so difficult because the rules change so frequently. I now have to tick a series of boxes every time I upload to ensure it doesn’t include ‘any of the following’ and the list just seems to keep becoming longer.

I only recently (Tue) just gone, visited my father's grave who died in 2020. I always aswell as flowers scatter a packet of salted peanuts by his headstone. Wasn't the best weather. But I did hear Thankyou Spider that's my nickname? Nobody else was around at the time. Benches were all wet so no chance anybody sitting around. It didn't bother me whatsoever, but it did startle me for a while. So it would of had to be my father 🙂 Which to me means he is at peace. I felt more at ease. Even though the weather was crap.

I live about quarter of a mile from Bramall Hall and we always grew up with stories of the 'Red Rider' and that you can hear the galloping of the horse on the cobbles on New Years Eve but also the bell to the door ringing, growing up I knew a lot of people who would go up there NYE to see if they could witness anything... and it's an absolutely beautiful place to visit too

I love that GC's videos are like someone reading to a group- especially when there's an occasional aside or comment. As a kid I always loved being read to, which probably explains why I love KZbin videos like this, and audiobooks so much LOL It's comforting, and just more fun to feel like one is sharing the experience if nobody else is there.

In the early 1990's I was shown a photo of two friends of mine unpacking in their new flat here in Australia, in the mirror behind them is the distinct image of the lower face and chest of a woman wearing what appears to be a tudor dress..my friends had no interest in antiques, ghosts or history and had no skills in photo manipulation so what is in that photo still baffles and haunts me to this day.

Loved all your Christmas ghost stories. Loved, as you stated, the fact that Christmas time is traditionally the time for telling them. Finally I love that you are, in a way, celebrating that tradition. Your own story ( about the mirror ) was my favourite and because of an incident I experienced about two years ago I believe that mirrors are indeed portals. My experience was so terrifying that I’ve not told anyone about it. Now is the time for me to wish you and your family and friends a very Merry Christmas and a happy new year. I hope Santa is very good to you.🎄❤️🙏😊

Thankyou, Nicola. Always enjoyed the tradition of ghost stories at Christmas, or whenever people were gathered in winter, around a fire. I suppose televison etc put an end to that, as an entertainment. The haunted mirror is a really spooky one! I believe objects can be haunted; a friend of mine told me of a large wardrobe or cupboard in her parent's first home, that was haunted by a woman. Her mother used to see this woman sneaking in and out of it, and was so distressed that her father finally agreed to get rid of it. It was so large, it had to be broken up, to be taken out of the house. A neighbour, seeing the work, asked if he could have the thing, and that was agreed. Many years later, my friend happened to mention it to one of that neighbour's familly, (who didn't know where the cupboard had come from) , and they told her that it frightened the heck out of the kids for years. Anyway, happy Christmas and New Year, and keep up the good work!

Funny, I was just thinking of Tom Jones and The Green Green Grass of Home this morning. I wondered if he was the first to sing it? I remember my late Aunt Ann who lived in the very haunted St. John's Wood Court Close - bombed during the war - any bodies and those of children buried underneath - was watching a concert of Tom Jones late at night. She cried her eyes out when she realized he was going to die. She described the song in great detail. She was a great story teller having told us about every ghost that lived in her house. From a pranking child, to a dark, malevolent one who causes her pillow to breathe. After her husband's death she moved to America and brought many antiques back which had been in her husband's family for hundreds of years. Upon moving into a condo decorated with the furnishings, after sleeping in the bedroom, she decided never to go in there again preferring to sleep on the couch. She claimed that a demon was in the bedroom. It was manifested through the walls. Her priest said that it came over with the furniture, and to get rid of it. She didn't, preferring to sleep in the house. I tried to recite prayers and throw Holy Water but, entering the bedroom, my eyes fell on an oddly designed chair. Immediately I felt a presence which petrified me. This was no ordinary ghost. This was a demon. Possibly the dark one from St. John's Wood, or attached to the land the new condominium complex was built upon? Her husband was invited to Queen Elizabeth's coronation and held the post of Lt. Commander in the Royal Navy owned a family home in Scotland which had been in the family for 500 yrs and contained paintings of his family going back that far. He sold it because Ann wanted to live in London. His daughter Robina was willed the house by his late brother. She took the inheritance and fixed up the house. Deciding she didn't want to use her education from Oxford and Art education in Italy, to reenter Berkeley to become a journalist. She sold the family home. Upon hearing it, her father died of a broken heart. She was just as thoughtful of her mother before she died as well. But that is another sad story. Thank you for your wonderful work all year! Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year!

Your dear grandmother was right. Many years ago (around 25ish) I was stood late one night, in the early hours actually, I stood in front of a mirror hanging on my fireplace wall in the living room. My children and husband were in bed asleep, so I was alone downstairs. I remember being upset about something and stood looking in the mirror in a semi-lit room. I was staring at myself and questioning myself on what to do about whatever problem that had upset me. After a while I started to sense something or someone behind me staring back at me. I couldn't see anything but the feeling was so strong and I had a sense of foreboding. I immediately walked away from the mirror and went straight upstairs to bed. Never forgot that incident in near 30 years.

As a frequent visitor and local of Bramall Hall I loved these ghost stories. The Hall is beautiful, I've never felt anything supernatural when visiting, but you can feel the history in every nook and cranny. Many summer days picnicking have been spent with my two now teenager daughters, in the halls grounds. Feeding the ducks by the old pond and Pooh sticks in the river... I was particularly sad to hear about the snowy day accident. I've visited the park on many a snow day and it's just fairytale magical ✨️

Thank you Nicola! A really lovely episode. So many neat haunted places I had never heard of before. Poor Jenny. I have personally felt old mirrors can be creepy. And I have heard objects can retain energy. My Spiritualist church will not hold tag sales as a result. There used to be a store nearby that sold salvaged furniture and such from demolished buildings. I went there once and there WAS a weird feel to some of the pieces. I decided I like new furniture only as a result! This was a lovely video to welcome Christmas. My Nanna believed you shouldn't put mirrors above fireplaces, she bought my mum and dad a clock to put there instead. I've had a few ghostly experiences with mirrors. I remember as a teenager fixing my hair and saw a partly materialised person standing in my bedroom doorway, i don't know if they were male or female but they wore purple. Another time i was washing my hands having used the facilities in a supermarket, behind me were the cubicles and i saw in the mirror a black shadow of a person rise up as though they'd either been sitting on the toilet or somehow just manifested from it and they just disappeared! That building was next to a graveyard rumored to have vampires so a lot of spooky things probably go on there. I don't have wall mirrors at home unless they are covered up if not using them. I definately believe they're portals. Thanks for the vid and have a lovely Christmas. (to all the other watchers of your channel as well).🥂🎁

I have just come to your videos indirectly, from watching similar videos by Richard Felix; and like his, yours are a very ‘balanced’ and intelligent view of the accounts, with some excellent photography, unlike a lot of you tube video’s we see. The story about Jenny, Old Soar Manor, I felt to be very poignant, a young woman, without a friend in the World, who should not have died in such circumstances, not even in those times, it is such an inhuman thing. So, thank you for sharing Jenny’s story and the many interesting, but sad cases of others. I have subscribed.

That’s right yes, and at least Jenny’s story and those of others whose lives were cut short through no fault or wrongdoing of their own have some remembrance in history; albeit not in the way they might have imagined or wanted. I have long wondered as to how? Why? A ‘spirit or ‘ghost’ might return or ‘reappear’ in the ways they seem to? Not sure if you have seen any of Richard Felix’s programmes; he has one interesting theory that ‘energies’ released during an event can be ‘recorded’ in the fabric around them e.g. in stone, wood and even the ground, then given the right environmental conditions, random occurrences may happen and so on? All very interesting and fascinating for sure!

Wonderful recounting of very well-researched, spooky stories - thank you! I don't believe in the mirror portal. In my bedroom, there are 2 antique mirrors, both starting to show their silvering, due to their age. One is on my grandmother's vanity, from around 1900. The other is on a chest of drawers valet top piece, which looks like late 1800's and was from my husband's grandparents. No issue with those, though sometimes I do think about all the images these mirror have seen. My parents both traveled across the Atlantic on the Queen Mary, back in the day. We do have some photos, as the ship would take images to sell to the passengers. In fact, I was able to visit the docked ship, in California, about 20 years ago. I knew about its haunted tales & carefully took in the beautiful spaces, thinking about my parents' trips and all the other people once upon it, as we toured the ship. Sadly, or perhaps fortunately!, I saw nothing unusual. A Happy Christmas to you and your loved ones! 🎅☃

Thank you ever so much for sharing your wonderful stories. Mirrors, I think, can really freak people out but I hear your point that you don’t think they are portals. I'm enjoying this lovely video while sipping on my Twinning's Lady Gray tea. I've heard stories about mirrors holding spirits, and there are several stories like that here in the US. One is at a southern plantation called The Myrtles, where a large mirror is said to be haunted by two little girls and their mother who were poisoned by a slave. I love your storytelling and the history you include. It's fascinating to me because I love all things paranormal and have always had an odd fascination with England, Scotland, and the British Royal family, even though I'm American. Happy Christmas!

Mirror gazing or skrying is a very ancient way to commune with spirits. The ancient Greeks did it in an underground psychomanteum (at Delphi, I believe) with very highly polished metal cauldrons filled with water. The famous NDE researcher and author Dr. Raymond Moody actually built a psychomanteum at his home in Alabama and had guests visit it and most of them were able to see deceased loved ones in a large mirror in his psychomanteum or soon afterwards, such as in a mirror in a hotel room they stayed in. This was documented on a television show with Diane Sawyer, I believe.

Thank you so much; this is a very interesting comment and I have heard of skrying although I am too chicken to do it! I love this. What do you think about mirrors? Do you believe they can be portals? Thank you for taking the time to comment and merry Christmas to you my friend 🙋‍♀️👻🎄
@uhlijohn
@uhlijohn Жыл бұрын
I think skrying is much less dangerous than ouija boards. Ouija boards can open portals to low level spirits out to do mischief or harm. Best not to fool with them. I did as a child and young adult with no ill effect that I am aware of but stay far away from them. Going on the information from Dr. Moody I do believe mirrors can be used for connecting to spirits of deceased loved ones but whether or not they are portals I am not at all sure. Moody had a long, narrow mirror in an ornate wooden frame mounted on a "gimble" that could be adjusted so the sitter was looking into an infinite clear depth. You saw no reflection other than be blackness of the velvet that was draped across the top, back, and sides of the psychomanteum as I recall. The space created by the velvet was dark save for a small watt electric light behind the sitter's chair which was tilted slightly upwards. The psychomanteum was a small space enclosed in black velvet blocking out all external light so that it could be used in daylight hours. It usually did not take long before the sitter saw people in the mirror. Most saw someone. I seem to recall that some sitters even said the people that appeared would come right out of the mirror and stand in front of them or to the side! @@ghostcasebook1266

I I also think that the "dead of night" story about the haunted mirror was 2nd creepiest of the film the 1st place going to the ventriloquist's dummy story ! My step Brother and his wife and step child were stationed in the UK in the 70's. The daughter met the Queen in the silver jubilee year when she went to an Oxforshire Daycare and they gave her a commemorative coin, but she was 3 and too little to remember it. lol Her Mom went to see Charles play polo at some pitch, he was drunk and fell off his horse several times. lol Their Xmas cards are nice, every year I get one from Duke & Duchess of Cambridge. A couple years ago it was a really and iconic and nice b&w of just him and Catherine, very nice. Usually it's just a family photo. @@ghostcasebook1266
