I have never in my life heard such a delicate and extremely well made/produced song tbh like how tf did they do this in such a small amount of time especially since there’s soooo much detail down to the most minuscule things and then the ending is so weird and mysterious like when I hear it, it sounds like something straight out of this world it feels like a Easter egg or something I can’t explain it it’s just crazy fascinating this might be the most beautiful and most sad song ever made even if it’s a pain to listen to like even if ur life is going well just the beauty of this song will make u cry and imo this is the best song she as an artist has ever made and I feel like this song doesn’t get the recognition it deserves sadly especially since it was so personal to her :(

I think what is so telling about this song is how restrained Ari is in her vocal here. Her phrases are relatively short, revealing its very difficult for her to sing this, as though she is about to cry. And then the falsetto closing is like a cry up into heaven. The strings coming in is just an emotional whirlwind. She absolutely gave it her all to give us this song.

I saw a few comments about the ending and probably it meaning something very very specific to her, and to me it kind of sounds like a train, as if you were at a station. like when you can hear it approaching in the distance, then as it leaves you get all that wind going past you. that strange sort of eerie twinkling sound mixed with that kind of fluttering idek is also like she feels things disappearing and floating away into the air. the adlibs also sound like this, like the voice effect or filter sounds airy and echoey. yeah I have no idea what it is but it’s so strange but so beautiful at the end, whatever it means to ariana must be special because it makes you feel something so different
