It's Race Day! Welcome to the first ever King Of The Road Race. Not to be confused with our King Of The Hill races, this track uses the Super 6 lane Raceway then onto one wide lane down to the finish. 72 cars in this event, which car will be the first King Of The Road? Let's see who takes it!

Yes and no. When I race without lanes I prefer the Sizzlers straight track. I'm NOT dissing this set up at all, I love the look of the "road". The slippery aspect makes the cars fly everywhere. It's still a epic run, but for me I really like as I said the Sizzlers Raceway. Now adding the high-banked turn as well back into another straightaway, that's my favorite track.👌

My money was on the green Landscaping truck, it's heavier than the other vehicles, I believed gravity would work in its favour. The first race was all Matchbox products, so it must have been the ergonomics of the different wheels on the truck which was a factor. Sweet set-up, a 'man-cave' we all dreamed of as kids.

A race surface with a bit more traction would be interesting to see. Even if you try tacky rubber matting or something similar, the plastic wheels of the car are still quite smooth. This would still allow for enough slide so that cars can still negotiate collisions with the wall and other cars, while also maintaining a more forward path with less spinning due to the increased traction.
