The M27-IAR is in many ways a very average light machine gun but it does have a few amazing redeeming attributes. It is the most accurate LMG in Call of Duty Ghosts and has the best iron sights. I think it is best suited for very conservative gameplay.

I rush hard with this weapon. Dump the supressor and put rapid fire on. It makes the gun a melt machine. Quick Draw+agility+marathon+focus+dead silence and you will beast on people all over. With rapid fire you drop people at any range in a blink of an eye. The added bonus of no supressor is if someone is actually using the minimap they will run to you and when they do they will die when they do because 3 bullets with rapid fire on take about .05ms to fire out. I encourage people to challenge me when using this weapon because they will die unless they have it too. Best gun in the game.

Drift0r, I find this is one of the better weapons to attach rapid fire to. The weapon has such low recoil, that only at the furthest ranges will you need to burst fire--but because it still kills in 4 shots, it's still easy to use. Rapid fire, paired with the silencer, turns this into a very deadly weapon at any range, and compensates for its initial moderate time to kill. Try it out.

***** Fully agree with you, especially with the last sentence. On maps like Prison Break you're forced to run Incog worth of 3 points, just to counter that stupid attachment. And when they're using this fully automatic sniper with no recoil there is not much you can do. I hate getting killed by this gun and attachment combination.

Best LMG by far in my opinion. Thermal+ Silencer or rapid fire works so well, just switch to the reddot when you need it. Quickdraw, Stalker, Focus and Hardline+ whatever

My crutch perk is definitely blind eye. Oracles are the most annoying thing in Ghosts, so staying off them is always nice

I run a silencer and variable mag scope on it. The silencer not only keeps me off the grid, but takes it to the "laser beam" status better than the foregrip. The loss of "distance" is negligible. For perks I run Focus, Dead Silence, Quick Draw, and Blind Eye. The final 1 point perk I run varies. I pack an IED as well. Sometimes I swap out Quick Draw and Dead Silence for Deadeye. This is a "walk and gun" and sniper rifle rolled into one.

4:57 is what kills me about CoD. He dies in less time than humans can possibly react in most cases. That means that it doesn't matter how good a player you are, sometimes (one might say often) you have 0 chance to win. So frustrating.

Too accurate, fire rate too high, reload speed too fast, magazine too large, zero noticeable penalty when using the silencer.....this gun is OP, no way around it.

Maverick 2HK range is lower than the range of a suppressed bulldog. You think thats overpowered? Its outclassed by every other AR outside of barrel stuffing range

One of the highest center speeds in the game, loses 15% recoil on the first 3 shots (barely any anyways), 7m 2hk range which is not that uncommon for sprayers, and a 37m 3hk range surpassing the SA805. This gun is an OP rushing AR, stalker and focus on this weapon makes it nearly unbeatable in short to medium engagements. The only AR that I can actually say is superior in medium to long range is the R5 which easily blows away all the others since the AK-12 is a pellet gun now.

I only use this gun on longer range maps such as stone haven because like the marksman rifles, its basically an anti-sniper. Use thermal hybrid, tracker sight for the long range and patrol an area with a lot of view, try for high traffic areas to be at an disadvantage at range.

M27 IAR was my absolute favorite to run in this game. I love it's loadout and it's look. Personally I put a thermal on it and turned it into a sniper killer because they would think that I'm going 1v1 with a Marksman rifle until I full auto them when they get to close to hitting me

One thing driftor didn't bring up is dead eye. This gun has very high damage, so you only need one dead eye bullet to reduce it to a 2-3 shot kill weapon.

Held the hill on Prison Break the other day 27/1. Then 33/4 on Strikezone. This gun is amazing. 32/1 on Stonehaven.

I use the m27 iar with rapid fire, muzzle brake and grip using ready up, stalker, blind eye, scavenger, and extra attachment. that's my recommended class if you want to use the m27 up to its maximum effectiveness.

no quickdraw on an LMG when you're rushing is a no no. I would trade off the grip for it. It'll help win gunfights against campers like me who use target finders and surpressor :)

Drift0r. When I play on public matches and where the gillie suit, people usually just shoot around the hitbox at first because thy think they are inside enough to hit the hitbox before aiming closer to the center. Just a useful tip when playing. Huge fan and I look forward to watching more of your videos

You need a pistol for lmg's 1. Pistol switch is extremely effective with LMG's 2. If an enemy comes around a corner and you are realouding you can quickly switch to the pistol as it has a long relaod time

Actually come to think of it, rapid fire and dead eye might be pretty deadly. A huge mag, 2-3 shots to kill, and a high rate of fire.

You don't need the grip on the gun, so swapping it out for rapid fire so you can drop enemies faster is a much better option imo. I use suppressor and rapid fire. Cheers

This is hands down one of my favorite guns. I like running it with 3 Attachments: Tracker Sight, Silencer and AP rounds. In objective maps (or even some team deathmatches), especially Stormfront, sit back, and provide endless fire support. Such a good gun.

Hm, I use the M-27 as a rushing weapon, it can work if you put a foregrip on it and rapid fire, however other attachments work, I also use the tryhard stalker perk to mess up people around corners and on maps like stonehaven I can usually get enemy's across the map because of the clean irons. Though after I watched this I wanna try it out without a foregrip and try and play a bit differently.

love this gun. I never use the grip, yes hip fire is bad but i did finally get my 120 hip fire kills, that toke awhile and finally got it gold. using the silencer is a must when using sites, it does not move everywhere when using the gun.

One of my favorite guns, my favorite LMG. Prefer it with VMR/Silencer for medium/long range combat; rapid fire/grip for short/medium range combat. Focus perk helps a lot.

This is my favorite gun in the game. I play on larger maps with it, and i like to just go full ads man with it, making rounds around the map. Ive also had surprising sucess just sitting in the center of stonehaven squatting and firing at anything that moves

Hey Drift0r , I dont know if you are still doing anything with ghosts, but have you tried using the M27 with rapid fire, foregrip, and using deadeye? ive had great luck with this and if nothing else its tons of fun. it hits like a truck and the foregrip negates a lot of the extra rapid fire muzzle jump. I noticed you hadn't even touched on the lmgs with your deadeye video, and since it gives you the 1.4x multiplier it effectively drops your bullets to kill at any range if you land a deadeye shot, which as you know on a gun this powerful is pretty crazy. It turns this into a much more aggressive class similar to something like the whale horn from advanced warfare almost. I think you would have fun trying it out.

I think this is my fave gun in Ghosts, I like running three attatchments, Thermal Hybrid, Grip, and Silencer, while the Grip isn't totally necessary in this class I find (For me at least) that it turns the gun into something that I can get cross the map kills with in Stonehaven with just tapping the trigger, and slight of hand makes this gun reload crazy fast, but that's just me.

I have been quite successful rushing with the M27 with speed perks. I am not trying to catch you out or anything Drift0r, but considering the number of people that watch your videos and also how campy ghosts is already, I don't think you should recommend anyone to camp unless it is absolutely necessary.

This is one of my favourite guns in the game and I rush hard with it rather than camp it out! Rapid fire and whatever other attachment floats your boat, stalker, ready up, agility, focus and qd. I find myself being "ads man" quite a bit but not too much and qd means I still have a good chance of winning those impromptu gun fights. Same set up works with the LSAT but I prefer the consistency of this instead.

I can't see a stealth class without dead silence. I use it on all of my classes (even on non-stealth classes, along side focus) simply because of how loud the footsteps are.

Ryan Burnham In a way it's kind of nice. The guns that people like to use tend to be accuracy based weapons that can be slow to draw and have pretty bad dps. Using a CBJMS, a Chain SAW, or a FAD can really be effective. Right now I'm trying to figure out a good way to use burst fire on the Marksman Rifles >.

This is my bread and butter here, but try this class setup with the M-27: Bling Scavanger Focus Slight of Hand Ready Up Dead Silence Attachments -Thermal -Armor Piercing -Silencer This class is perfect for the defensive role in domination and I consistently get my chopper, helo pilot, and loki with it. Also works amazingly in hardcore as it's usually a 1-2shot kill at any distance.

I used to run hardline on it, but even when I take it off I would still get my helicopters and loki so I just replace it with a more useful perk now. That's almost an exact copy of how I started using the m-27 though.

the R-5 only 33 meters. it's hard to tell unless he does field testing on a large map like with the R-5.

You are right. I think it is 44 meters, but that is irrelevant. It just has a longer 3 hit kill range than the M27 ;) The R5 with muzzle break is about 55 meters +/-. The muzzle break adds about 16% range, and those 16% is measured from the damage drop END, which is about 60 meters with the R5. 16% of 60 is ~10 meters, so its damage profile is bow starting to drop 10 meters later, and end 10 meter later.
