Great documentary and interesting to see some similarities between Scotland and Iceland. Although Iceland has never had wolves or Lynxes the country is badly damaged by sheep grazing through the centuries. Nearly all native birch forests had disappeared when the last remains were protected in the beginning of the 20th Century. About half of the original vegetation is gone and the soil has eroded away. About half of the remaining vegetation cover is still subject to erosion and grazing, even overgrazing in some parts. Forest owners have to fence out other farmer's sheep to protect the forest because of persistent tradition of sheep "roaming free".

A very measured and engaging short film. "The lynx is a no brainer!", I most certainly agree with that statement!!!
