I love Whitby, I’ve been going there since I was a small a child, went on a first date with my husband there and we got married there! There are famously reputed to be 199 steps up to the Abbey and St Mary’s Church, anytime you go there you will see people walking up and down the steps counting and trying to prove that there really is 199 of them!
