Ghosts Season 3 Interview: Why THAT Character Was "Sucked Off" [SPOILERS]

[Editor’s Note: The below contains spoilers for Ghosts Season 3 Episode 1, “The Owl.”]
After a nine-month wait, we finally know which Woodstone ghost was “sucked off” at the end of Season 2. Sheila Carrasco’s Flower has moved on to the afterlife.
Now that the Ghosts Season 3 premiere episode, “The Owl,” has aired and one of the show’s biggest burning questions has been answered, showrunners Joe Port and Joe Wiseman took the time to discuss their experience crafting the first episode of the new seasons, and specifically why they came to the conclusion that Flower should be the first of the show’s main ghosts to move on.
As one might expect, we say “sucked off” a considerable amount of times in the video interview at the top of this article and Port used it as an opportunity to highlight that that’s a gem that came from the BBC original. “The ‘sucked off’ phrase came from the British show, and that was literally probably the only thing that they sent us that they were like, ‘You guys gotta use this. This is very good. You have our blessing.’”
Much to many fans’ delight, they indeed took it and ran with it, delivering loads of hilarious dialogue that address the idea. Yes, there are still many laughs to be had in “The Owl” as the ghosts process what it means to finally see one of their own “sucked off,” but there’s also a touching emotional undercurrent that’s heavily tied to what’s made Ghosts so special - the attachment the characters have to one another, and the attachment we, as an audience, have to them.

Episode 4 - Flower is trapped in the well. Actually, it was staring me in the face the whole time. The group photo that appears on screen when scrolling for the next episode synopsis on Fios shows what appears to be Sam & Jay standing in front of the well with all of the ghosts behind them - including Flower giving the peace sign.

Ohoo man, i loved Flower. Everyone wants to truth. Why would Sheila Carrasco volunteer to leave a top rated show. There has got to be another reason than "it seemed like a good idea". I felt Sheila didn't get enough air time and her ghost power was hilarious.

Loved Flower! But so many lines for flashbacks or meeting people in her life- Ira Kline of Daisy’s coffee shop, Flower’s brother, any of her former cult or commune friends/enemies. I can go on for eternity!! I love all the ghosts. Eager to learn more about the other ghosts, but while Flower got so much closure, reached her dream business with Ira, made up with her brother through Sam…. I was hoping Stephanie or a basement ghost or a British soldier but I understand why it was Flower. I’m so sorry for Thor. He’s a favorite too.

Long before it was revealed that Flower was still around you could tell that they hadn't gotten rid of her. Their 'explanations' sounded really fake. Still I'm glad Flower wasn't sucked off and I'm hoping that we'll run into Patience sooner rather than later....

I can see after watching this interview of why Flower 🌸 was sucked off is because Flower’s actress, Sheila Carrasco, got pregnant. 🤰 That makes sense now. Hopefully, we’ll see Flower again at some point within Season 3 of “Ghosts” and it’ll make fans very happy! I can’t wait to see new episodes every Thursday on Paramount Plus!

The ghosts are stuck on earth within the area they died in. The term "sucked off" is really the passing to the next part of the afterlife. The light shooting out of the B & B is this passing. 😊

It’s a term Trevor ( the 90s finance bro) used as a gutter minded humor. He gets a laugh cause the older ghosts don’t understand it. It as they said it was a term from the original UK Ghosts. Trevor has a sort of Beavis and Butthead humor ( big show on MTV in the 90s, with a re boot now,) .
