The best sitcom there has been in TV in a very long time. The tone of it is so wonderful, a mix of innocence and anarchy. Fantastic ensemble cast. I hope it runs for many more years.

Last years Bleak Midwinter as they all stood around the piano was honestly the most heartwarming moment of the entire Christmas season, this years Christmas special has a lot to live up to but I can not wait to see Jennifer Saunders in such a brilliant, shining example of TV greatness!

Just re-watching The Bone Plot and just realized that there was a nod to Jim’s ability to cause Ben to corpse… The scene in which the ghosts are watching the filming of the documentary about the plot against Queen Elizabeth and a fly buzzes the woman doing the narration, she screams and everyone laughs except The Captain. Pat says “There’s one for the bloopers”. The Captain doesn’t react but when he realizes that Pat is staring quizzically at him, he says “What?” And Pat says “You know? I don’t think I’ve ever seen you laugh…” Of course, in real life, Jim is forever causing Ben to laugh uncontrollably during shooting. Just a look from Jim will set him off. I must have watched this episode 5 times and never noticed that inside joke.

Ghosts is the funniest tv show in the UK for a long time. The Robin character is genius. Making him very clever even though he was a caveman and they didnt speak. I found it very touching when it was the eclipse. He explained people come and go but always i have the moon. I believe in spirit and i hope they are around me judging me either at home or in work. Sadly the next series which starts on BBC1 on October the 6th is the last one. I do hope we find out the Captains first name and how he passed.

@@oliviadaly4795 yeah, I know - always figured that the 5th would be the last, as Larry basically indicated as much in older interviews. I wrote this a year ago - that was when people "in the know" already knew that the BBC had renewed it for both S4 AND S5, but they were holding out on announcing those renewals for a very long time. Still my favorite show, and I've always thought that 5 seasons would be perfect, and allow them to tell the stories they want to tell in just the right way, with a perfect and planned wrap-up. I'm not sad at all, and I'm glad the BBC allowed the gang the space and time to do it exactly as they always wanted to. 💗
