LG 27UL850 is a better choice if you're considering a monitor for PS5, a lot of you totally missed the importance of HDR, which is actually one of the most important thing right now, not just resolution or refresh rate. This monitor only peaks at 300nits of brightness which doesn't even pass the lowest minimum of an HDR picture which is 400 nits. If you want a monitor for PS5, consider buying LG 27UL850, it is HDR400 certified, if you have a higher budget, go with LG32UL950, 32" that peaks 600nits of brightness.
@TheEgyptianOne4 жыл бұрын
I have been out the loop for so long when it comes to technology and I need help. Im thinking between the LG 27UL850 27 inch and the cheaper LG 27UL500-W also 27-Inch. But 1- I wanted something just a tad bigger because I already have a 27 inch 1080p ASUS MX279 ips monitor from 7 or 8 years ago. So Im thinking of maybe 28 or 29 inches but if 27 inches is still a better choice, then I will go with a 27 inch model. What do you think? 2 - I want to make sure the HDR is good enough and not washed out like the many comments and customer reviews have mentioned on Amazon for most of these 4k monitors. It is like I can't find a decent HDR/4k monitor combo that most people can agree upon. All they say is "we just turn off the HDR cause it is washed out" which is not what I want to have to do when I eventually get the ps5 or even with my ps4 pro. I want to be able to have decent HDR. 3- I don't want to pay over 500 dollars for a monitor.

@Scream I just got It for Ps5 myself. The only main con of this monitor its that It wont be "the best" (4ms response its really good but 1ms its even better) you can get for FPS but apart from that its a really solid option, 4k and 60 fps its all i need for PS5, some games might come out for 4k and 120fps but i dont think its worth paying 150/200 extra bucks for a monitor that supports 144Ghz. Its important to note that 1ms response its the best for FPS BUT those monitors tend to give problems in the long term (Due to low quality components) and their panels arent IPS (Which its the best one in my opinion) I've been using this monitor for the last week on PS4 Pro and the results are outstanding, colors look great, the Game mode improves games from even 12 years ago (Fallout 3 and New Vegas in my case), as a casual FPS player that focuses more on singleplayer games (But enjoys a good multiplayer game like Battlefield) i think this was the best option for the next 5/6 years.
@PeRiCoPeRiQuiTo974 жыл бұрын
@Scream in that case yeah, you will be happy with this monitor, i've been playing AC Odyssey and Origins, Fallout 4 and Need for Speed Heat and the results are great, Odyssey even looks like other game with all that color and definition. I recommend enabling game mode (Improves definition and colors) + brightness at 50 (Thats just personal, you can go a little bit up or down) and HDR only when the game its compatible (Odyssey looks worse with HDR enabled, for example)

4k 60hz , that's what most games run , you need a xbox series for 144hz vrr ,ps5 doesnt support 144hz yet and when it does you will need a 2.1 hdmi cable and hdmi port 2.1
@SahinnTT3 жыл бұрын
If you still doesnt buy a monitor i recommend you go for 4k 60 hz monitor i was using 2k 144 hz Samsung odyssey g5 its 2k but ps5 thinks thats 4k monitor and downsample to 2k its better than native 2k but worse than native 4k . Ps5 games (120fps) are too rare so you dont have to buy 144hz for only ps5 ,but if you have strong pc you can buy it, in the future AAA games gonna 4k 60 hz but like cod,bf maybe support 120 hz in 1080p btw 1080p looks too blurry in 2k monitor its long for read i know but go for 4k brother i try both and difference is amazing
@Carneillon3 жыл бұрын
@@SahinnTT I ended up with a great 1440p and 144 hz monitor that can downscale 4K signal and can do 1080p 120 hz same time on console. I tried 4K and 1440p monitor both and returned the 4K because i think it didn't worth for just the resolution. 1440p is on a 27 inch ultimately crips and sharp enough to get amazing details on console. And i didn't want to buy a monitor that doesn't have VRR, higher refresh rates, gysnc, freesync or other technologies in a year like 2021. And the last thing, PS5 can't do native 4K resolution in 60 fps in many games. It's usually renders at 1440p or 1800p dynamic resolution in AAA games. So 1440p really fits great on console and PC usage.

Received the RU55 monitor yesterday, it's awesome! I connect my MIBOX3 to HDMI1 and PS5 to HDMI2, but why can't I turn on game mode on the monitor when I use PS5? The monitor no longer allows me to use "game mode" in the "picture" settings, but the MIBOX 3 HDMI1 allowed me to turn on game mode. On PS5 I have of course PC selection, but on MIBOX3 I turn on AV selection. FreeSync and HDR On When Supported are turned on, but why does the monitor not allow the game mode to be turned on, I need an explanation, but I'll be honest, right now the PS5 quality of the image I see on this monitor excites me!

Is 5ms Response Time not too much? I thougt its important to have 1ms
@beerus5534 жыл бұрын
depends if you are a "pro" gamer. Only they can notice the difference between 1ms and 4ms but to regular people who play games, it doesn't make a difference. The normal human visual response time is 0.25 sec (250 ms) so 4ms should be completely fine for the average gamer.

The difference between 1ms & 4ms is surely negligible for basically all gamers... I mean there's got to be other factors along the chain that contribute more to the delay between human input & what's happening on the screen , than just a 3ms difference in the screen Is this screen worth the upgrade from the old Samsung 28 inch 4K 1 ms TN panel? the one from a few years ago the E590D? Mainly for gaming on PS5
@rapidetech3 жыл бұрын
i m think not , as the e590 has more contrast due to his TN painel and the response is quickest 1 ms than this 550 , it s better for static job and photography and frontal game

@@rapidetech I ended up buying the 550 And still have the 590,can't tell the difference between them in response time tbh. Thecplour contrasts are hugely different, a little bit annoying with HDR on some games because I can't see anything

@GewelReal2 жыл бұрын
1. the response time numbers the manufacturers put on the boxes are fake 2. 1ms and 4ms is HUGE difference. quite opposite of negligible. An actual 4ms reaction time is pretty good, but any ms matters, even for casual gamers
@WildfireX2 жыл бұрын
@@GewelReal I think most people would only notice a difference in extremely high end competitive shooters tbh. I've played on both screen types, in all types of games & never noticed a difference (but I don't play competitive FPS, presumably where it would be noticeable). 4ms screen, still in top ranked lobbies for GT7, so clearly it's not a big deal

You need an HDMI 2.0 cable year 2017 or later even a dollar store cable will do 4K at 60 megahertz. You have to use the second HDMI port or the display port, the first HDMI port will only do 4K at 30 megahertz.
