Fairooz's voice has been used so masterfully! Thanks to CSB for picking her in this arrangement. This is really a bold effort to make a jazz version of this masterpiece! Having said that, personally, I liked Shuvendu's work more in Bulbuli and Darale Duare. I thought instruments like trombone, and cello were a bit under-utilized as this is a jazz composition. But hey, kudos to CSB again for bringing up this kinda music so we are having such discussions. Going back to Fairooz, she did a splendid job. But it'd be really unfair if one compares her performance with the mesmerizing Shahnaz Rahmatullah! She is unmatched! On top of that, you get to see the gorgeous Suborna Mostofa as well in the original. So let's block the thought of comparison right now. Thanks to CSB again; for this attempt they made, lots of new-gen listeners will now go back in time to check out the original song. I'm absolutely loving this season. The vibratos, the texture of voice sounded like top female jazz singers. I don't remember this song from Ghuddi but with packing it with full Jazz flavor and rendering it with precision, I feel like this song wouldn't fit in any other style. Bravo!! P.S. - The body and hand movements when saying the words 'দোলায় দুলে যাই’, ’সাগরের ঢেউ’ - sensually articulated. You are an artist Fairooz. Average Bangladeshi listeners aren't familiar with Jazz at all and it clearly shows in this comment box. Just because you don't like a song does not mean it's an objectively bad song. Also for the people complaining about her pronunciation- this isn't at all the first time Bangla is being pronounced like this. Just like how English has multiple types of pronunciation (American, British, Australian etc), a language is bound to have different sort of accents; which is just how linguistics works. Grow up. And if you hate the song, then listen to something else and move on.

as a lover of jazz music, i have to disagree here. Bangla can indeed be spoken in multiple accents and dialects, and i believe coke studio bangla has showcased the diversity of the bangla language in its various releases. but this is a distinctly western sounding accent that honestly sounds like a foreigner trying to speak bangla. it reminds me of 'english medium accent', how kids who went to english medium schools in dhaka speak in bangla, which is frankly, a distortion of bangla language. speaking as an english medium kid myself.

I myself do not reallylove the way it sounds but it's how a lot of Bangladeshi people speak, right? It probably would've sounded better with a singer who has better pronunciation, but the accent alone does not justify the claims that this is a bad song. It's not the accent's fault, at least in my opinion.

I always wish coke studio to select artist on the basis of “who is the best for this part “rather than “who else can sing it “…because our music industry financially is not enriched…so we should use our max talent whenever we get a good platform…….now, I have heard this song and I can vouch ,with this jazz arrangement - this artist has done 100 percent justice to her part…her vibration and variation were good! Again, the vibration of her pitch! It seems effortless. Nicely practised. Good throwing. The ending was nicely done like a good dessert. I am very pleased as a listener. Good job .

Jazz did not have to be boring, I have heard plenty of Jazz I like and listen on repeat. The vocalist has an amazing voice and she can make you listen to her all day. প্রথম দিন শুধু ল্যাপটপ এর স্পিকার এ শুনে মনে হইছিলো কোক স্টুডিও মনে হয় এবার ফ্লপ গান গুলো দেয়া শুরু করলো!! আসলে সন্ধ্যাতারার পর এক্সপেকটেশন বেড়ে গেছিলো। কিন্তু মাত্র হেডফোন এ শুনার পর বুঝলাম, আমি কত বড় ভুল ভাবছিলাম!!! জ্যাজ মিউজিক এর বেশ কিছু গান শুনছি, তার মধ্যে হিন্দি কিছু হিট গান তো আছেই। এই জ্যাজ মিউজিক কে এত সুন্দর ভাবে এরেঞ্জ করে ৭০ এর দশকের সুপারহিট গান কে পুনরুজ্জীবিত করা চাট্টিখানি কথা না৷ কি অসাধারণ মাদকতা ভোকাল এ, কি সুন্দর রিদম আর স্লো বিট, কি সুন্দর ট্রাম্পেট আর গিটার এর ঐকতান!! কয়েকবার লুপ এ শুনলাম!!!! ❤❤❤
