Wow, that was some determination. It was totally worth the effort.

This turned out perfect! It's interesting how we have an idea of what we're going for, but the end result is something else that emerges through creative learning. Thanks for sharing your steps! Also I just want to say you have a great, gentle narration voice that is easy to listen to and follow. Bonus points for not editing and chopping up your sentences so that it's just nonstop talking. You give what you're saying room to naturally breathe and it's absolutely appreciated!

Great custom. I'm working on one myself, but she'll use a different jacket and the Marvel Infinite Shanna head.

That's the head I went with too. I have the Indy Jacket so I might have to redo mine to incorporate it after all. Did you use a Marauders body?

Hey you did a great job. I wish I had your art skills and kitbashing abilities. I made a Cover Girl about 2 years before you made this video, and spent a decent amount of money on a few parts from several figures. However because of problems with the torso on the fig I also couldn't get the arms I wanted to fit. I finally gave up and ending up using a modern fig of Lady Jaye and replacing the head with a blonde-haired Marvel Shanna 3.75 inch figure. The head fits a little high on the neck but is mostly hidden by the hair and goes with the slim build of a model. Cheers for putting these videos up. Wish I had your storage space!

Great work man! She looks great! Glad you didn't give up, and thanks for sharing the whole process, even the troubles and mistakes. I just finished a custom Classified Covergirl and ran into some surprise hurdles as well! I just discovered your channel and love it, so naturally I subbed!

the hole in the back of the figure will have a screw that when taken out will allow the front and back half's of the figure to come apart to allow the arms to be taken out
@ActionRobotPunch3 жыл бұрын
The Marauder figure doesn't have a screw. It's not like the Joe figures. Someone told me they're glued together? But I'll check again. Thanks for the tip.
@justinamerican82003 жыл бұрын
I was gonna say, they must have changed them from the eighties figures, because me and my brother used to unscrew that back screw and mix and match parts from our duplicate figures to make custom Joes.
@ShadowStrike283 жыл бұрын
Boss Fight Studios figures have the screw at the lower back, but that's mostly to allow separation of the legs from the waist.

I'm gonna take the custom plunge for a cover girl with the 6inch scale to go with gi joe classified figures. Over a year ago I got some extra marvel legends on clearance for $5-$6 bucks, so I'm thinking the leather jacket from the retro dazzler or the captain marvel (who knows, maybe both will work thereby having 2 variants of a cover girl). For the head I'm thinking of the pink ranger blond and/or a black widow (I've seen some paint a scarjo headsculpt brunette). Not sure if the leather jackets will fit on the lady jaye buck, so maybe I'll use one of the white suit or grey suit black widows.

Your cover girl is indeed beautiful. I really wanted to do custom female joes as well since female joe figures arent that many but the marauders arent just that accessable where im from.
@openitandplay48443 жыл бұрын
Yeah, when you have a GI Joe hobby the price for shipping abroad gets expensive. I am now keen on getting a few Marauder figs after years of looking at them and having a full shopping cart without ever checking out!
@somarriba3333 жыл бұрын
I made a simple Covergirl with the Classified Lady Jaye and a headswap with a Marvel Legends Emma Frost. I'll have to find a jacket to make it work better though.

The emblem on her jacket sleeve is likely a Wolverine like her missile tank. Nice work, but you could have just painted her hands brown or black and called them gloved. Makes sense for an armor driver/maintainer.

The old school Joes have the screw but this brand of modern figure didn't have screws. Unless maybe it was really small. I'll have to check. Thanks for the tip.

"She's a lovely girl. She's funny. She's smart. Why don't you want to see her again?" ".... She's got man hands. She has hands of a man! It's like a creature out of Greek Mythology, I mean, she was like part woman, part horrible beast."

Nice! Yeah I don't think Seinfeld would date this version of Covergirl. It does help her when rebuilding the Wolverine's engine.

You said this was your first custom? You will learn about the practice of "cracking open" the torso, which will save you some trouble in putting together and taking apart figures. Great job, though!

Thanks, glad you liked it. And thanks for the proper term for what I should have done. I figured it'd be helpful for folks to see me blunder through the process. Maybe help others avoid making the same mistakes. Again, thanks for the comment!
