GI Joe M.O.B.A.T. battery cover differences and How to test without a battery cover.

1. This video is about how to identify the difference between version 1 and version 2 battery covers. The version 1 has a half moon notch that fits around the post of the MOBAT. This version was made during the early part of 1982. The version 2 MOBAT battery cover has a flat tab and the post of the tank is shallow. These battery covers can be found on ebay at a price range from $20-35.
2. Testing your MOBAT without a battery cover. In the event that you don't have D size batteries make use of AA or C size batteries and some aluminum foil. You can purchase your batteries at your local Dollar store.

Thank you for your very informative video that helped me. I was able to test my Mobat with tin foil and double A batteries and it worked. Also, I didn't know about the different battery covers. Good to know 👍

dmac7344, I'm glad that my video helped you out. Tin foil makes a great electrical conductor. Also, if your MOBAT makes squeaky noises use a light coat of WD-40 around the tread wheels. Make sure not to spray around the motor.
