“Life and death, energy and peace. If I stop today it was still worth it. Even the terrible mistakes that I made and would have unmade if I could. The pains that have burned me and scarred my soul, it was worth it, for having been allowed to walk where I’ve walked, which was to hell on earth, heaven on earth, back again, into, under, far in between, through it, in it, and above.” - gia ❤

The movie as a movie is okay. But this “biopic” is entirely fictional with only small moments inspired by reality. That and Angelina Jolie has fucking ZERO RESEMBLANCE to the real Gia Carangi. It’s very distracting because Gia’s look was what made her stand out from other models. And Angelina Jolie here is just playing “Angelina Jolie” (to her credit her acting is very good, but acts NOTHING like the real Gia).

I've seen several biopics, "Selena" the movie comes to mind. There's always a lot of controversy when a movie is supposed to show a real person's life. Whether the actress looks like the other artist, if they're pretty enough, talented enough etc... I think having a very accurate depiction of someone's real life events is really difficult as it is very subjective depending on who's telling the story. 3 people can witness the exact same thing and tell it 3 diffefent ways. I feel like with "Gia" I gathered the main points, her uniqueness, rebellious ways, free-spirited attitude, drug abuse, fame, beauty and sadly, her death. It raises awareness on AIDS and it's a solid watch. I respect your opinion though and do understand where you're coming from.

I think that it would have been very cool if the girl from desert hearts had played gia. She felt so much more like what I'd imagine gia was like as a person than Angelina Jolie in Gia. Desert Hearts wasn't about gia but it felt like the real gia. if that makes sense.

I haven't seen that movie yet but based on the pictures I've seen. I can see a resemblance physically. I'd have to watch it to form an opinion in regards to her character
