Porque las colecciones de primavera verano se muestran el año anterior antes de que salgan a la venta. Es decir en la zona norte del planeta donde se encuentra eeuu, Europa, asia, las estaciones de Primavera verano, empieza en febrero y terminan en agosto. Por ello los diseñadores presentan sus diseños para esa época en septiembre del año anterior, para que los compradores y los críticos tengan tiempo y se den una idea de como es la colección. Por ejemplo ese desfile se dio en septiembre del 1997, unas semanas después de que Gianni fuera asesinado, dice spring summer 1998 porque esos son los diseños que saldrán a la venta cuando empieze primavera verano en febrero de 1998.
