I like Giannis a lot because he's a nice guy and one of the NBA's few humble superstars. Philosophically, I can appreciate his point about steps to success and not being able to win all of the time. But...I think Giannis is terribly wrong in saying the Bucks' season wasn't a failure. The Bucks had a great regular season, they were ranked #1 in the East and they lost, 4-1, to a #8 seed. That's only happened five times before in NBA history. If your team is on the wrong side of something that's only happened five times before, failure is an understatement.

No, every year, you work towards something. Michael Jordan played for 15 years and won six championships. The other nine years were a failure?!"

The word FAILURE sounds crazy … Giannis basically saying to the reporter: “What do you in your life where somebody can ask you was this year a failure for you?”

@@austinfischer985 Okkk. He asked him a question.. Giannis can say no or yes. The #1 seed w/ the best record in the league got knocked out in 5 games. Many would absolutely call that a failure, but it’s a matter of opinion.. and he asked Giannis’s opinion. Stop being thin-skinned oversensitive snowflakes. It’s an HONEST question that’s been posed countless times to players n coaches in all sports! Some of you were born yesterday I see And ya seem to think this question is harder on him than the difficult loss 🤣 🤣 He’s simply emotional after a loss as he should be. I don’t think Giannis is going to have hard feelings about it later on

@@shaheedharun445 yeah I know that’s why I said failure is a strong word for a competitor. It’s a common question to be asked when you don’t make playoffs, leave playoffs, or don’t win a ring. Dudes just tired of hearing it every year for all the hard work he put in

@@austinfischer985 Lmao all NBA players put in hard work! You sound ridiculous bro .. Giannis is the only competitor in the league?? It takes a competitor just to play in the NBA No sorry OKC, Utah, Orlando, and Houston are not “failures” - being young building teams. Oth Bucks & Mavs and arguably the Cavs seasons ended in failure. You sound simple in the head The Nets failed themselves w/ the Simmons’ trade. Failures happen in various ways & everyday. Respect!! You can understand that statement doing anything in this world at any job. But, playing sports helps you understand there is always another day. You don’t succeed everyday! You go back game plan and do something another way to try and be successful. That was great to hear!

Bucks not winning isn’t a failure. Only one wins a year. But as a 1st seed and title favorites losing to an 8th seed; in addition the panic at the end game plus the missed throws, yeah that was a failure on the Bucks.

You can't win the championship every single year, even the best teams and players ever. Losing in the playoffs isn't a failure it's just less successful than 1-8 other successful teams

All of you stop with this sh*t trying to defend this man. Success or failure is based on the result considering the expectations. The Bucks were the favourites and they lost to the 8th seed in the 1st round in 5 games, while being up double digits heading into the 4th qtr of games 4 and 5 and Giannis getting 23 free throws. It's a f*cking failure of highest proportions, he should admit it, accept it and learn from so that they can be better next time, that's how you handles failures.
