It happens. My Christian men's group was booted out of restaurant because of the conversation. I have been to restaurants that would not serve us because of race. My dad was chased out of restaurant with a knife by the owner because of his race. I'm Caucasian by the way. It happens. Racists and intolerance come in many forms.

The expected double standards: they'll have their cake AND yours. Regardless, the word of mouth won't be good for this company. He wasn't kicked out for imposing or requesting service that had to do with his values or beliefs either, but supposedly for having such beliefs and values that didn't align with the owner who seems to have eavesdropped on him, which is quite a sharp standard to uphold on customers. The service wouldn't have involved capitulating to, supporting, or positively regarding his views or compromising their own so far as I can tell. We'll see how it all pans out as customers decide whether or not they want to support the establishment on their own terms.

We didn't respond to her but it didn't stop her. We never went to that restaurant again and it's been 20 years. Who wants to go to a restaurant where someone is actively listening to your business.
