It's not "work" when it's doing something you love. ie hunting. I wake up so much easier to go hunting, than I do for work... lol Great job though! Loved the vid!

I hear Canadians call their deer “bush bucks”...what does this mean?
@carterbennett62323 жыл бұрын
Personally call em Bush bucks when they're deep in the thick of it Public land.
@spencerminchau89773 жыл бұрын
“Bush bucks” live in an area in which they do not feed on an agricultural field and live their lives exclusively in the bush. Typically living in excess of 10 miles into the public land bush. (Approx 60% of Alberta is public land) I’m from central Alberta and this is what we call a bush buck.
@FatalImpactOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
Yup you nailed it Spencer. We refer to a bush buck as any deer who has never seen an agricultural field before. They are browsers and have completely different feeding patterns and activity when compared to a farmland deer.

Same way down south. Like our swamp and big forest country deer. Except ours are heavily pressured by all the hunters and VERY VERY nervous.

I wonder how much this buck would have weighed gutted-out? In the northeast the tradition is all about the size of the deer. The rack is secondary, although it makes sense that the largest deer often have good racks. A deer with a dressed-weight of over 200 pounds being a whopper, a real trophy. (Gutted only weight. Everything else intact.) It would be nice to get such a tradition going here to know how our bucks rank size-wise. In former generations, when you had one tag and you were after the meat, it made sense to track down the largest buck you could. "More buck for your bang." More vittles.

Where we hunt back in the bush, we're 10-20 miles from the nearest road or agricultural field. Majority of these deer have never seen or heard a human before. They don't view humans as predators and thus aren't bothered by us talking quietly, nor our wind direction. We've never been busted by a deer because of wind. They just don't associate us as a threat. Now they're obviously not dumb. If they're at 50 yards and we're talking loudly or yelling they get uncomfortable and scurry away, but we don't need to be nearly as cautious or careful as 99% of whitetail hunters. Trust me, it's not a gimmick and there's no fancy editing. I know it seems unrealistic or fake, but they're a different kind of deer. One of my favourite parts about taking experienced whitetail hunters up to the bush with me is when they see how we do things. We break all the traditional rules of whitetail hunting.

Hey guys is there any way I could DM you? ..I'd love to learn how to hunt a true bush deer.. I live in the peace country and there's tons of big leases here that I'm thinking have a different type of deer than the farmland deer I've been hunting

Hey Jerry, check us out on Instagram or Facebook. You should be able to find our pages under Fatal Impact Outdoors. There you should be able to reach out and send us a DM and I'll get back to you personally. - Dana

Can anyone please tell me what those boot warming slip-ons are that Dana puts on at 5:03?
@FatalImpactOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
Hey Jordan, they're just the included boots that come with the Heater Body Suit System. They're just an added layer of insulation between your boots and the metal of the tree stand platform. Most people don't realize how quickly the steel drains the heat from your boots. The more you can keep between your feet and the metal, the warmer your feet will be, which obviously means the longer you'll be able to sit in the stand. You can usually buy similar booties from a few manufacturers though. They're nothing special, just a semi-thick fleece lined bootie. Good Luck and Thanks for watching!

Hey thanks for the information! Also great show. Love it. Keep up the good work!

Who makes the suit the guy is wearing at 16:25 ???
@FatalImpactOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
I'm assuming you're referring to the Heater Body Suit. There are a few manufacturers that make these style of suits, and I've personally tested majority of them. They each have their positives and negatives, but I usually find myself coming back to the trusty Heater Body Suit for minor reasons. Ultimately, you'll likely be very happy with any of them. Heater Body Suit, Shiver Shell, Blizzard Buddy just to name a few that I've tried. If you're referring to the thick sherpa lined Camo we wear, it was made by Raven Wear. Unfortunately you can no longer get it as it was made in Alberta here and they have since quit making it.
