Giant and Liv: story of a sponsorship, Jayco AlUla and Liv AlUla Jayco - interview

Giant Bicycles is the biggest cycling brand in the world. In 2024 it is the bike sponsor of Australia's two WorldTour teams - Jayco AlUla and Liv AlUla Jayco. I caught up with Tom Davies shortly after he arrived in Australia to see the Giant, Liv and Cadex brands in action during the Tour Down Under.
We talk about the state of the cycling market, how important pro cycling is for the promotion of the brands he manages, Giant / Liv's association with Gerry Ryan - the owner of the teams, and how the sponsorship / partnership came about.

I've lost count how many TCRs and XTC mtn bikes I've had since I first laid eyes on the original Mike Burrow's metallic blue TCR on my LBS floor all those years ago. Still think Giant makes some of the nicest, sharpest looking bikes in the pro-peloton

I like the shape of that Propel, more traditional looks. Still not a fan of disc brakes though.
