This is so professional. As a concept artist this is amazing to see a real pro working and solving real art problems artists face when creating pieces.

Perhaps your most informative youtube video to this date. You were always a great teacher but you are getting unbelievably proficient at conveying the most important ideas in such a short amount of time, you are elevating it to an art form in itself. Thank you for these.

It may just be because I'm a software engineer that I see things through a very particular lens, but I especially love your videos where you show an engineer's approach to the solving of various creative problems. I think this demonstrates how art isn't just about mood and inspiration, but about thoughtful planning and problem solving.

James is a one of a kind, It's not hard to find a good artist. But to find a good artist that just happen to be good at teaching and presenting his work is actually hard.

This is a mindblowing display of ridiculous talent, I am in awe of your abilities James, I found myself exclaiming 'wow' under my breath to myself multiple times. As an ornithologist, with a lot of experience with seabirds, you have captured impeccably what a bird like this I believe would very likely have looked and behaved like. Imagination to life!

James Gurney I was looking through your book again just the other day that I have in my collection. I see on page 166 about it. Maybe I should get your DVD on painting dinosaurs too. I don't draw or paint dinosaurs, but I would probably learn something from it, since I learned some things from this video. Are you using watercolor paper in this video?
