Do you have ground under paint on this painting? It looks like just the white of the paper. I see in your other videos you sometimes use red or paint a ground first. So why not in this case?

Love your channel. You are so good at explaining things quickly and simply. And thank you for not just saying "practice more"

I hope he releases replicas of Denison's journals. They better be made from eco-paper, organic paint and eco-plastic.

Thank you again for this James, it is really informative and yet still fun to watch! I always get so much from watching these videos that you put out, they are educational and yet so relaxing as well. I always feel the need to get the brushes and paints out after watching too so it is safe to say that you are inspirational to so many and obviously me too! best wishes and thanks again.

Wow! What a great "discussion" about gouache. I really enjoyed all the questions and answers. I enjoyed your painting, and I bet it was a lot of fun taking a ride on that iceboat! Thank you so much for this tutorial and for answering all the questions. 👏🏻

I ALWAYS learn something new from your painting videos, Mr. Gurney. Folks, if you dont own his book Color & Light, you NEED to pick it up. It's literally the best book on the subject. You will learn so much from it.

I lke the work, of course, but also the sound, to have the background noise instead of "music" is a plus IMO.

Well that brought back a few memories! My Great Uncle Homer was in the gumball machine business in Portland, Maine from the 1960s to the 1980s. He would give a great big bag of gumballs to me, my brother and sister when we visited him and my Aunt in the summers of my childhood.
