This is the full video of the biggest Black Widow web I have ever found. It is OVER six feet high!! While we are filming, the spider rushes out and grabs a wasp or insect and wraps it up! Very fun dialogue in this video and some funny moments. #amazing #nature #wildlife

Sharp eye & nice find Chris! Spiders in general are really interesting, especially the Black Widow. Those kids are really lucky that they are being introduced to the nature and the outdoors at such a young age. 👍👍🕷🕷

Yep, the world definitely needs more families like this. It's a joy to be able to read the environment and be rewarded with beauty like this spider.

What an absolutely frickin cool interaction with the new NH&N fans and the black widow. To see the insect captured at the end like that, wow! Cool vid, Chris!

In Texas, they have a black widow that more closely resembles an Australian Red Back, as it has the distinctive red stripe down the back, in addition to the hourglass. A few years ago, someone filmed one capturing a baby rattlesnake in her web, right near the end of the driveway where the family's children play.

very informative information about this species I always thought their webs were usually in or around homes and had messy nest somewhere in a corner of a home.

Nice stuff. That is a cool name, Dashal, or however it's spelled. I've seen a black widow like once in Florida, and huge brown recluses. Even one brown recluse that was at face level (I'm like 5'7"), like a couple or so inches away from me walking into him/her, because I knew to check for how often webs were becoming found by me in a short period of time in the park I was raised across in Miami, Florida. When I exercised, I would use a flashlight to check what webs are out before jogging and walking regularly, while keeping caution in case the web got bigger, or I missed anything on a lap. I ended up just exercising on the street at that time period. Hahaha. Shalom.

theres a cobweb spider in the back of my garage with a web nearly this size, the other day i tried flipping it over with a stick to see if it was a widow and that was maybe the strongest web i have ever touched. even stronger than the massive orb weaver webs that ive seen, you could bend the strands multiple inches out of the way and they would snap back into place without breaking. when one of the strands snapped you could literally hear it

😳Good to know Chris, I did not know most of this information. I guess I will keep my eyes 👀 open😂. I thought I had a brown widow in my window last weekend but I didn’t disturb it to find out, for my own sake😂. I have only seen them inside of structures and never thought about looking in the woods, that I reside in😮another adventure I am going to have to go on😉

Would this spider be part orb weaver?🤔🤔

No, these spiders are considered "Cob-web" spiders, although their webs are deliberately designed.
