If you put the rolled up bit in the fridge between rolling out strips it'll slow the proofing and then you can leave it out to warm up before putting it in the oven for an even proof. So parts don't over proof.

Hi Barry, I’ve noticed that you use a lot of cling film in your baking videos, this is not meant as hate however, perhaps you could consider purchasing beeswax covers as they do they same job as cling film but they’re reusable.

or the silicone covers. for a video he could try both.
@cheshkat63215 жыл бұрын
Agreed. So many reusable options. I've been collecting silicone pastry mats for this very reason. Better than covering dough with towels or cling film. Large pastry mats make it easier to clean up flour and icing spills also. Many also have rulers as part of the design/feature so you don't have to clean a tape measure. Just made giant cinnamon roll myself and it doesn't need so much dough - gotta let it rise and fill the pan naturally, so only 2 inch wide strips needed. Then wouldn't have to mash the dough down as it baked. Ruins the texture and swirl pattern. Also, a cast iron skillet makes delicious giant cinnamon rolls. You can even buy 15 inch and larger skillets. But would probably take two people to flip it over. Leftover cinnamon rolls aren't as tasty after a couple days. So just warm it in a cast iron skillet with a bit of butter. Makes it taste like fresh baked. Much better than in microwave.

Yummmmy! The only thing that would make it better is to fill it with pecans. My mom always puts them in her cinnamon rolls and there’s nothing better.

Sorry Chloe is sick! I’ve got an easy recipe for potato soup that my mom used to make me when I was sick. I’m convinced she kludged it from what she had on hand. 🤗 She’d take a large baking potato, cut it up into chunks, and simmer it in chicken stock for 30-45 mins. With some help from a fork, the smaller pieces break down to make it creamy, and the larger chunks give you something to bite into. She’d top it off with some dried parsley flakes. I’m sure you could substitute whatever potatoes you have on hand. (And I usually add some black pepper to it these days)
