I just got one today, I have an almost 7 foot tall terrarium with lots of space for everything it needs. Edit: My Gecko is now almost 10 inches, and is able to be hand fed. They have no problem with me being close, and they mainly hang out next to the head lamps.

@@CineskyVisions good. He goes up high and basks for a while and eats what we give him, and he does good with the misting. He loves the enclosure and goes everywhere in it

Nice!! Enjoy him! Have patience with handling him. Mine is now just over a year old, and after months of letting him lick honey of my finger, putting my hand in the terrarium for him to smell me, see me and not being a threat, he finally jumps on my hand once a while! Do you have a bioactive terrarium?

Those _Dieffenbachia_ (dumb canes) are great for lizards that are arboreal. Also if trees are what an animal wants, the umbrella tree is good, aka _Schefflera_ or _Heptapleurum_ or something new. Lol. Also, different Ficus, like _Ficus benjamina_ (most common) or rubber trees, even though they’re pretty large eventually, _F. elastica_ ... My fave for my lizards is _Ficus altissima_ and Ficus ‘Audrey’…

Also, bromeliads are great for hiding places and they can be filled with water as a natural drinking bowl. It’s actually ideal. Just monitor it and make sure no algae or anything develops, but you just flush it out with new water, preferably daily anyway. I would make sure it’s not a super sharp bromeliad, either, hehe... but now I don’t know if it even matters, poison frogs live all over them like it’s nothing. Lol.

I plan to get a day gecko. I am going to build a custom terrarium with would and other materials. Any other suggestions for best dimensions other than the ones in the video?

I am building a very large arboreal cage with a small river running in the bottom with guppies. The cage is 6 ft by 2 ft deep and 5 ft high. Well planted with lots of perches. Question... inside I would like to house day geckos and a couple of budgies. As I read... the birds pretty much will leave the lizards alone and the lizards have no interest in the birds. Thoughts?
@Jinx-z2g Жыл бұрын
So much risk, the budgies can turn on the gecko, gecko or budgies can drown, if the gecko decides to go for the guppies it can get parasites from them that arent harmful for the fish itself.
