Hey Aquamigo! This heat is no joke. Of course it's supposed to be 115 where I live on moving day #1. Gah! I'm stealing you're new filter setup for my next pond. Stay cool. ✌🏼💖🙏🏼

Hi Aquamigo! Yes be careful when you are moving! It's dangerous doing manual work in that kind of heat! Best of luck with your move and yeah! These trash can filter setups work great! I highly recommend it!

Thanks for sharing, love the new pond filter you built. Going to see if I can build me one like it, with shipping barrels to use with my new 14x14 ft swimming pool I am going to make into my koi pond. Hopefully I don’t have to fly you to the Caribbean to do it for me. Great video!

That was awesome bro! And that’s one hell of filter!! Hopefully will really help with keeping the pond clear.. And that heat is crazy, I don’t know how you managed to work in it. We got to over 100 in the UK earlier this year, which was a new record high for us! Keep hydrated! 😎

Thank you bro! I'm hoping my water will clear up soon 🙏 Wow! over 100 in the UK is crazy! Over the years when I used to go to Scotland to visit my family, I don't ever remember a hot day in the summer haha. Thanks for watching man!

LOVED the vid man! Verry to the point with great info, great editing and talking over the speedlaps was super. Love that you put in the new filter to man, that will start up the beneficial bacteria for the new pond already and you can test out the new pump on the system to. Great thinking buddy!

How is the two barrel filter working out? I'm thinking about doing the same and worried about it will be big enough for my 4000 gallon pond.

It's just a 5 gallon bucket that I cut in half and drilled holes into, to help create space between the intake pipe and the lava rocks

I’m pretty sure it will probably be easier to use ones in the block and then something that’s half the size of a cinderblock rather than digging out to use to cinderblocks
@TobiasHolenstein
@TobiasHolenstein 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah that would have definitely been easier, but I didn't have anything on hand that was the right size and I didn't want to buy something new since I already had all these cinder blocks laying around.
@fj1100mark
@fj1100mark 2 жыл бұрын
@@TobiasHolenstein well I guess you could’ve always cut the cinderblocks in half
@TobiasHolenstein
@TobiasHolenstein 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah that's true, it probably would have been a bit easier than digging, but I don't mind the digging so much. Plus I still have the whole cinder blocks in case I want to use them for something else in the future

@@TobiasHolenstein They make half high block, not half blocks, could of avoided all the digging.😂😂😂 When working in the sun, Work smarter, not harder. 😉

How dose you pump in the water not get clogged
@TobiasHolenstein
@TobiasHolenstein Жыл бұрын
I took the sponge out of the inside of the pump and also I have the pump inside this pre filter thing that has some mechanical filtration, so big stuff can't get past through to the pump. I have a video on how I made it here kzbin.info/www/bejne/eHvGf6yilN16qNk

with ur new pond buld u must consider to do a PERGOLA roof for your ne pond ..it will look nice and clean.. those black liner that u put over ur old pond does not look nice... my self have a pergola over my pond...
@TobiasHolenstein
@TobiasHolenstein 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah! I'm definitely going to do something like that. I'm not sure if I will do a pergola or something similar. I was thinking of maybe putting up 3 or 4 metal pillars around the pond and having a sail shade

Your pool needs a powerful filter or the water quality won't improve. You have too many equipment items, and the effect is not great. You should set up a sedimentation tank. The sedimentation tank is filled with natural stones (home depot), which can purify the water quality and make it clear. The edge of the pool will not turn black. Clean the edge of the pool regularly, and then Set up trickle filtration, this method of filtration is very powerful and cheap, goldfish, koi, not suitable for substrate sand, will also affect the filtration effect, buy a lot of ceramic rings, Chinatown is very cheap, $10, I bought 100 packs, filter The effect is very powerful! The water quality is clear, will it turn black? Large ponds can be planted with lotus, but this kind of pool is not suitable for planting lotus. The silt will also spoil the water quality and make the water not clear. It can be planted outside, which can not only purify the water quality, but also prevent the water quality. If it is turbid, then use purification carbon and biochemical cotton to upgrade and purify the water quality again. The whole pool is of clear water quality, which is very good. You can try my method, it will definitely surprise you
