My cat comes onto my lap, too. He weights a little under 5kg and if he stays too long, my leg goes numb. I can' t imagine what Jodie must have gone through with that much weight on her legs. The things we do for our furrbabies. I wish for every petowner to be abke to cuddle as long as possible.

Our friend's dog did that to my mom every time we came over. 200 lbs. of goofy Labrador. using mom as his pillow for 4 hours straight. The minute she sat on the couch, "flump!" right on top of her he'd go. Food? His mommy begging him to come? Playtime? ...Nope! He would not budge. Mom was his special pillow, and he would not move!

Dear Jodie, like many here, we are going over all the old videos, since the crushing news this week. I do feel for you, and your mum. This is one of my favourite videos, along with the one where you have to use a vacuum on Key, like a council leaf blower! Both are hilarious. They remind me of the magical time when I owned (sorry, cared for!) an Alaskan Malamute, from 1983 to 1994. She was called Attu, and though female, was a big lass, like Key. Her moulting was an adventure, and no mistake, but seeing Key sat on you here, and your cuddling and stroking him, brought the tears on. There is something magical about a Malamute; they love attention, and looking at his coat, the soft fur (sorry, fluff!) under the coarser top hair, as you stroked him, brought all the memories back. My husky always knew when I was down, she would come close, and push the top of her head into my collar bone. Magical animals. I never got a replacement; that's the thing, you love something so much, and you know at some point, you have to let go, and that hurts. Personal circumstances precluded me getting a replacement (though how do you ever replace them?), but you, with your mum, should forge on. In a few months' time, you should approach a Malamute breeder, and look to choosing from a new litter. You will never replace the magical stunt-dog that was Key, but I do believe he would want you and Nan to be happy, and there's only one way for you to do that. This week has been dreadful for you, Nan, and so many of us following you. Thank you for sharing.

This is definetly me breed. Been arojmd tons of dogs but huskies are it. Whwn your deeply sad planting my face in all that neck fur and hugging them makes everything seem fine. They know when im sick and juat lay low or if im extremely bad off they just lay quietly next to me no noise or problems. Fun time is always awesome and cold winter walks are a blast. All emotional problems are solved by a huskies love. Keep in mind its like that with all dogs. The love you give them is returned 100 fold
