To take it to the next level i took expanding foam and sprayed the top half and painted it to make it looked as it was dipped and then glued colored ping pong balls for candy bits

Little tip for connecting poolnoodles . get the soft hair curlers and glue them in to make a peg :) the soft bendy kind for doing curly hair.

Very nice. I covered mine with Dollar Tree window insulator kits. I got three covers from each kit as memory serves. I used the tape from the kit. Folded the plastic over the top and attached front and back together inside along the sides with the tape and slid it over the lollipop. Gathered at the bottom with a cable tie and shrunk it with a heat gun on low. We get a lot of wet and snowy weather and I wanted them protected. It's held up well and they stayed dry in our winter weather. Now I have to take them apart to add the lights...thanks, Isaac! 😁 Well, maybe next year...

Really great channel. Appreciate all the work you do. Question regarding the gingerbread video from last year though; I noticed this year that HD and Lowes do not carry the 2" extruded foam boards anymore. I can only find that material in 1" or the really messy pellet foam in 2". What do you recommend this year? The pink one from HD can be doubled to get the 2" but that pink foam board is scored with rectangles and would come out to like $80 for both sheets.

The reason I don’t use superglue is because it takes too long to cure. Hot glue dries in about a minute, but superglue takes much longer, but if it could dry as fast as hot glue, I would use superglue.

What happens if you put the lights through the pool noodle?

Pool noodles are too dense so it would be a more muted effect. But try it and tell us how it turns out. 😊

It works great! The pool noodles work as diffusers and glow spectacularly. I put lights inside the pool noodles when I make words and candy canes for my light show. I split the noodles up the back to make inserting the lights (and pvc for stability) easier. You can glue them back together but it it's really unnecessary.

You can also use a soldering iron and go to the back of the pool noodle and melt holes and hot glue each LED bulb into the holes. The diffused glow is very nice and a different look.
