*** I have a helpful tip. **** It might make it esaier to line all your noodles up end to end ahead of time and glue together. After that you can use the clear tape to secure and the use the duct tape to wrap the whole thing so it all lines up and you will have a cleaner finish. Love the decorations! Lots of fun

So.......just a tip, I first hot glued all three noodles and then I swirled the tape so it's looks even and it's all 1 piece. Then when I start I do about 2 turns to start the middle and put a piece of clear tape across to hold it. Then I swirl the rest and put a piece of clear tape from top to bottom to hold it all together. It does not unroll at all. While it's taped, I begin to put hot glue. Once it is dry you remove the clear tape and your lollipop is all together, and it takes you about 30 min per lollipop. I love your inspiration and videos!

Great idea making that jig to keep everything inline. I wonder, what do you think about using a soldering iron and on the back side, melting holes and pushing LED lights into the back of the pool noodle and inch or so, and now the light would be diffused and they would glow at night. I think with four noodles, that would be about right for one string of LED lights of 50 every four inches or so. If that many lights are too bright, then maybe put black tape over every other bulb until you get the desired glow you're looking for. I'd love to see another video trying this. Keep up the great work.

I don't know if you'll have time to answer but how did the cellophane hold up? I made the noodle part this Spring and I'm getting ready to assemble them. Dollar Tree has window insulator kits for $1.25 60x72 inches. My thought was to drape one over the top all the way and cinch at the bottom so there's no opening for water to get in at all. We get some serious weather here. Then shrink it to reduce wrinkles. Cellophane has a better look but I wonder about the durability. Thanks so much. I never would have even tried making them without your awesome tutorials. I haven't done it yet so I'm not sure how it will work but I bought a bunch of solid/swirled large balls this Spring. My plan is to glue large suction cups to them and attach the suction cups to PVC (still working on that process) and add large clear glitter then wrap them for big spherical lollipops. Wish me luck. Lastly, I'm working on a garland idea with pool noodles decorated with colored tape cut to maybe 9". Wrap with plastic and gathered at each end like candy. They'll look like this but with tape to add color contrast instead of wrapping paper so they're OK outside. theseasonalhome.com/2012/11/21/how-to-make-large-faux-christmas-candy-decorations/ They'll be threaded on paracord and alternated with bounce house balls. Thread first then wrap, of course, with cable ties to hold them in place. Sorry for the length, you're so generous with sharing your ideas I thought I'd give you a couple of mine to spark that fantastic imagination of yours. I hope you had an outstanding Halloween.
@IsaacAlexanderDIY2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for your message. The cellophane worked amazingly. When it does rain though, condensation does form on the inside but when the sun comes out, it dries up nicely. The pool noodles that had the cellophane did much better than the ones that did not have it. That being said both the cellophane lollipops and the ones without did great and I’ve reused them two years in a row.
@dianeladico17692 жыл бұрын
@@IsaacAlexanderDIY Thanks for taking the time to reply. I will wrap them for sure now that you've said they hold up better, especially since our weather is worse than yours. I have some window insulator film but now I know I can use cellophane without worrying when I run out. Thanks so much. The little ones are going to be thrilled with Candyland, I'm sure. Sometimes I wonder how much joy you've spread by inspiring others with your channel.

Try putting a string through the noodle. You can use it as a tie-down clamp.
@cf43763 жыл бұрын
I made these a few weeks ago. You don't need the glue or contraption. Roll them tight ( I used 2) & have someone else wrap clear packing tape around them. Then wrap in the cellophane. You can't see the tape unless you are right in front of it. They held up through a few extremely windy nights.
@IsaacAlexanderDIY3 жыл бұрын
This build is supposed to be a one-person project. You used someone else to help you do/use your method. When I wrapped mine last year with packing tape, it looked tacky so I didn’t do that method again. But thanks for the input

Thank you for posting another great idea. I truly love your channel. That said, this year I am making your swirl lollipops, gingerbread men, and giant candy canes for 2022 Christmas. I even built the wood contraption for the swirl lollipops which was a great help 😀 However, on a different topic... I was wondering if you knew how to make the vertical 2 color twist lollipops that go hand in hand with the swirl lollipops. I was thinking that it would entail cutting the pool noodle in half long ways and then wrapping two different pool noodle colors up or down a pvc pipe interchangeable at the same time.... but I am not sure. So I figure I ask you because you are very talented in these matters. Hope to hear from you regarding this. Take care and thanks again.
@IsaacAlexanderDIY2 жыл бұрын
Hello there, I’m so happy that you love my KZbin tutorials and that you’ll be making some of the creations that I did. I have seen that color twist that you speak of, yet I haven’t attempted it myself. I do believe it entails cutting the pool noodle in half and then using some type of adhesive or caulking to stick it all together. But I haven’t attempted it or given it much research to give you a conclusive answer. I apologize for that
@kittykat999a3 жыл бұрын
Wow! Great job! I’m wondering if you could use tubes of construction adhesive, in your caulking gun, instead of the hot glue?
@IsaacAlexanderDIY3 жыл бұрын
The reason we use hot glue is because it dries within 30 seconds to two minutes. Using construction adhesive would require the lollipop to remain stationary and strapped down for 12 to 24 hours. So in theory, it is possible but not practical or easy

I love this idea and I think your jig is very clever! The area I would put these is where all my utilities are buried coming into the house (small yard probs). Do you think if I used a cinder block and embedded a rebar in that and then painted the cinder block like a present that would hold these up? I also have super hard and rocky (more like boulders) soil so this is my work around. I've been wanting to do a Santa's Sweetshop theme for years. But the ground is so hard. I think the lolly is definitely light enough to work with the cinder block. Worth a shot I guess.🤷

I would recommend liquid nails or a more industrial caulk gun glue. I make wreaths and the glue melts if it's in constant sun, so I turned to zipties.
@IsaacAlexanderDIY3 жыл бұрын
Have you ever used liquid nails on a lollipop creation before? I would think you haven’t because you would quickly find out that liquid nails or industrial glue from a calking gun would not work. Liquid nails does not dry in a few minutes or a few hours - that’s almost half a day to a full 24 hours of wait time for a liquid nails to fully cure. We don’t have the time to wait so long. Hot glue is the simplest, most effective way to do this project. Each Lollipop took me about 20-30 minutes from start to finish. It’s a very simple process that does not need to be complicated by liquid nails. you mentioned the sun melting the glue. I could understand if these lollipops are being placed outside in the Arizona sun during July, but these lollipops are outside in cold temperatures in direct sun and do just fine. This is the third year I have expanded my lollipop collection and I always use hot glue and for the last three years they’ve always lasted me amazingly well

@@JujuBee77 I am chill 😎 I just don’t want people to be misinformed or make something harder than it needs to be, especially since you’ve never made a lollipop with liquid nails before. But thanks again for feedback, Merry Christmas 🎄🎁 😃
@JujuBee773 жыл бұрын
Yea I can tell you are. But ok that's your opinion, personally If want something done right to last me longer even if it takes a little longer I don't mind.(not saying you did anything wrong lol) That contraption you made will hold it there for the 30 min it'll take to dry! (Again I recommend something stronger not just liquid nails, though I have used liquid nails in renovation projects and it's awesome, I'm just recommending something stronger than hot glue like 3M VHB tape too!) Either way people choose their own methods. It is what it is. Have a Merry Christmas & happy New year also! Best of luck on you channel.

Just found your channel and I have to say that I love it. I am going to do a lot of your decorations next year for sure. I think I will add red duct tape in a spiral around the pvc pipe to make it look like a candy cane. Keep up the work.

I love the contraption you made my husband made it after your video. So did you use a high temp glue gun? It was so much easier doing this I only used 2 pool noodles.
