I guess now we know that when it comes to Devil Fruit Zoan Mythicals, the abilities of the users act somewhat like a mixed Dual-Fruit Type Power-user. Like for example with Marco & Yamato, their Zoan Mythicals make them a dual-mix of Zoan-transformer & Logia elemental; like with Marco's Fire Phoenix and Yamato's Ice Wolf-God. And I guess for Luffy's Zoan Mythical it makes him a dual-mix Zoan-transformer & Paramecia-superhuman of rubber

When these manga chapters came out last year a lot of people were actually worried if Luffy has been "overtaken" by Joyboy completely, or if Luffy is literally the same person as Joyboy. I think Oda knew this was going to happen, so he wrote that scene where Kaido asked "Who are you?" followed by Zunesha saying "it's as if you're really here" and Luffy saying he is still Luffy and delivering his iconic line. This is of course another example of "Inherited Will" in the story.

Yeah. It makes sense. I think Nika is just the fruit. But Joyboy was the last person to awaken the devil fruit. Another thing that was worrying is that on most zoan fruits, once awakened, it influences the personality of the user, but I don't think that's the case here Nika is an embodiment of freedom, and I don't think he would impose his mentality on any user. That makes sense in my head, as to why joyboy's will was never passed on until now, the person needed to want freedom with the same conviction as joyboy and nika to awaken those powers.

I'll clear some misinformation you got. No there was no Warner Bros collab with TOEI. 1071 was directed by Nagamine. The best scene was animated by Weiling Zhang who made his One Piece debut in that episode. He is a very well-known animator who also did Naruto+Sasuke vs Momoshiki fight. Now this episode again no WB. Episode director is Shimaya. Ishitani returned true but she only did a small Storyboard. She was not a part of the animation department. Her section is the Law and Kid section with the eye pop-out reaction face. Next, the first Luffy Giant is the Storyboard of Bahi Jd, animated by Ryo Onishi. Next, the best-looking scene of the episode was Storyboarded by again Bahi JD, and animated(together) by Akihiro Ota(Sanji vs Queen climax) and the GOAT of animation making his debut in TV anime for the first time Shinya Ohira(Ghibli animator one of the best existing animator). Hope it clarifies some stuff and man every week thanks for the reactions hahahaha

This was one of the best episodes of the series, and easily in the discussion for the best fight so far. The way Luffy fights is now certifying him as a full blown top tier when it comes to power scaling. He had kaido shook on the ground, while he just bounced around laughing.

In the manga, the section of the fight just before Luffy goes gear 4 for the last time (with the headbutt) is my favourite. But the anime didn't do it all that well. This is IMO the best fight in the anime yet.

@@triv3ls one piece has some of the worst pacing i’ve ever seen, the villains are easily the worst of the big 3, and the fights are amazing but not top tier imo. Other than filler bleach is near perfect aside from the slow start and rushed ending, it has better characters than one piece, a more relatable MC (I do think Luffy is a better MC though) better fights, WAY better pacing, better power system, better scaling (atleast until TYBW) cooler abilities, etc. One piece has a better story, better world building, and slightly better writing, but at the end of the day this is my opinion, and everyone’s gonna have their own opinion.

The whole point of Gear 5 is designed to be cartoony, Oda said that it was inspired by Tom and Jerry. Saying he thought making transformations "always serious" gets boring. And he wanted to make a transformation that actually is original but also, same with the power up as well Gear 5 breaks the cliches of typical anime transformations Oda was having fun drawing Gear 5 Luffy. And so are we, the viewers/watchers are having fun, laughing in this episode. It's PEAK!!

In the last episode Luffy not only made the ground rubber to bounce back the blast breath,he turned the blast breath itself into rubber because a massive fire ball should explode on impact even if it hits a rubber surface...that means he can turn things like energy into rubber

The purpose of Gear 5 and JoyBoy is to make the people laugh and have fun and that includes us, the watchers. If PPL want their Edgy, Emo, Rage transformations, go to literally any other mainstream Shonen. Leave us with our Goofy Rubber Boi. Oda literally created Gear 5 with the intention to defy every single transformation trope in mind. He wanted to create something that was different and something that did not use rage or hate as power. He wanted to enjoy himself drawing G5 and he wanted to make us all laugh with it and goddam, he succeeded.

the part you mentioned as ishitanis section is Bahi JD's (animated a lot in 1015, most famous is his "I will be pirate king" at the end of 1015)storyboarded section and was animated by akihiro ota (snakeman and yamato combo on kaido, sanji vs queen) and alsoone of probably the top 5 mostl legendary Japanese animators OF ALL TIME shinya ohira (this is not an exageration hes considered one of the industry legends by pretty much all animators and works in featur films like ghibli films. the fact we got him to do a scene for one piece is insanity). megumi ishitani storyboarded the part where we see all the characters inside the skull dome up untill luffy pulls his head out of the skull dome and goes flying and lands.

Megumi Ishitani doesn't handle the animation, she handles the storyboard for the entire episode. So the pacing, the angles, the scene choices and the time taken to do everything in the episode is because of her. Comparing this to the last episode, she's amazing.

I love how Gear 5 is Toon Force, yes, but it's more that Luffy is using Toon Force as a fighting style, rather than turn the story into a gag manga. It's a power up that makes him more free and unpredictable, but Kaido can still deal damage to him, he's still a threat even if he's getting confused at Luffy's wacky attacks. It's not like Goku and Vegeta getting destroyed by Arale-chan. It's a goofy power up, but still is being treated as a power up, with a time limit and vulnerability to raw power.

I believe Shanks did know the truth about the gum-gum fruit when he stole it but none of us can say for certain, like 100% certain with no speculation, what he intended to do with it. Luffy did eat it by accident after all. Still can’t believe that Shanks left something a lot more valuable than we thought in an open, unguarded chest, next to a 7 year old kid.

Cartoons break the codes and is based on the absurd and the unexpected to make people laugh. In a classic story, you're influenced by your environment/the story. In a cartoon, you influence you're environment/the story in ways that are not possible in real life or in the story. You give litterally life to yours ideas. That's why Kaido became a ballon and that Luffy can pass through him, or that Luffy can make the floor like rubber, like he's on a trempoline, or that he can manipulate all the things around him . As long as Luffy's imagination works, his fruit won't have any limitations. When you're in a cartoon, as long as you have an endless imagination, you can do whatever you want, you're free.
