Everyone blames the wolves but never once do they realize that coyotes outnumber wolves & they indeed decimate the deer population....

We don’t have wolfs

Though there are Facebook pages and groups that swear we do Maine doesn't have wolves and haven't for over 100 years. And it takes more than one coyote to take down a healthy mature buck.

The coyotes have a hell of a lot more wolf DNA than western coyotes I can tell you that much for sure. But really logging winter yards is the real killer.

I live in NE Wisconsin and we have always had an abundance of coyotes and yes they do get their share of deer. Our deer hunting was still awesome until the wolves got established. Now the deer hunting is terrible and gets worse every year.

I missed a yote in the tree this season. Bummed me right out. He was trotting by behind me and I hurried the shot. So bummed out. But I plan on hunting in there this winter.

I have never seen or heard of a coyote being harvested in the 80s. In Pennsylvania! The state didn't have a problem with CWD either. Not until the game commission was ousted for the dept. of agriculture overseeing deer farms and game preserves. Everything is a bureaucracy in government anymore. Corruption runs rampant these days. Pennsylvania has lost more than half of their hunters since the 90s. I guess there had to be a way to curb the deer population. So, you bring in coyotes to appease farmers, foresters, and auto insurance industries. I'm guessing it wasn't enough! So, bring on a fatal disease. It's crazy how the two-tiered system works. If you think you're free, think again. The wealthy oligarchs control the levers of power.....
