It's now a tradition in my house to make 2 of these a year for my daughter for her birthday. She's obsessed. She shares one with the family and lives off of the other for a couple of weeks. They're her favorite thing. I personally can't stand peanut butter and rarely eat chocolate (the darker the better, in my case), but everybody else in the family seems to really love them and it makes me happy to make them something they love so much.

Hi Elise. I made this yesterday as a gift for my friend who turned 30. Turned out good and he was pleased. Thanks a lot for the video. To those who are based in the UK- I couldn’t find any chocolate without cocoa butter listed as an ingredient. In the end I decided to buy a load of chocolate to test which would work. Tesco’s own brand milk chocolate ("every day value") the first I tried (cheapest) and it set fine. I ended up using the microwaving method of melting, where by 2/3rds of the chocolate is slowly melted ( 5/10 second intervals on full power in microwave followed by lots of mixing - rinse and repeat) and the rest is added and predominantly melted by using the heat of the existing melted chocolate (as well as getting some help from the microwave too). I also used Tesco’s own brand peanut butter which seemed to be a bit more moist that a Morrison’s type that I tried previously. This helped a lot with regards to the peanut butter base holding shape while transferring it. Make sure that you generously oil the tart pan base and sides. You don’t see Elsie do this in the video (she does mention it in recipe). It’s vital for a stress free removal of choccie base. I personally had a lot of peanut butter mixture left over in the end. Not sure why. Perhaps my tin size was off. Use your own discretion though if things don’t seem correct - don’t force things.

Just made this and for everyone asking for the sizes in U.S I'm going to put what I used I used one bag of milk chocolate (2 cups) but I recommend buying two because I barley had enough chocolate 26 oz of peanut butter 2 1/4 cup of powdered sugar 1/4 cup of butter I didn't use a tart pan I used a heart shape pan but I'm sure these measurements are fine I also put my pan in the freezer not the fridge.. Chocolate got stuck on wax paper so I recommend not puting wax paper if your going to freeze your pan!

Listen, there's way to much Icing Sugar; EVERYONE USE 350 GRAMS INSTEAD OF 600 GRAMS. (Its too dry and slightly to sweet) And 550-600 grams should be enough chocolate. You have no Idea how much Left over I have. I just finished making it; on Monday 27th July 2015, 8:54 Paris time (if any of my grammar is wrong sorry, I am still learning English). Sorry Elise but this chocolate was bad. And I love Reeces Peanut Butter Cups.

I had to add another couple cups of peanut butter because all I could taste was the powdered sugar and I had to mix it with my hands because my mixer wouldn't do it because it was so dry! It was good after I added the extra peanut butter but I made about 6 or 7 "reese eggs" with the left over filling! Soooo be careful and mix your peanut butter and butter together and then add the powdered sugar a cup at a time. I couldn't find the brand of baking candy I wanted so I got milk chocolate chocolate chips and they worked just fine and it is delicious! She made it look so easy but I had a hard time with it!
