Giant RC Rally car gets MAJOR upgrades!

I have a Redcat Rampage XB. The stock 30cc engine drank fuel super fast like yours too. I swapped out the engine with a 23cc Dynamite engine, and now I can run for 15-20 min on 1/3 tank of gas. I still can't believe how long the engine runs on one tank of gas now! By the time one tank is done, I ready for a break. I ported the intake and exhaust ports by hand with a file and the engine makes tons more power now, noticeable massive horse power increase! the car's rear end breaks looks and snakes around when it hits the power band! I will post a video of it soon. I swapped the 29/31 gears, so the 31 is on the clutch bell now, and it definitely helped the top speed. I put a DDM V1 pipe on mine and it made a lot more power than the Redcat upgrade tuned pipe. After oiling and cleaning the bearings and gears, the rolling resistance is minimall now, which also helps the car go fast. I always wanted one of the XR Rally cars. They are super cool! I would port the engine if I were you. It will give you the speed your looking for. I never did it before, but it actually really easy. I raised the exhaust port 2mm and lowered the intake port 2mm., as well as increasing the size of the ports and matching the manifolds. I posted a video of my ported head before I mounted it on my 23cc., so you can get an idea of what I did if you want. Good Luck bro, have fun!

Nice work! A lot of people have been telling me to swap gears, and I might try it. I have a pretty cool idea for a video with this car, so we definitely haven’t seen the last of it.

I believe I saw a video where the guy swapped the left gear with the middle outer gear and it gave him 3 MPH. He complained about the factory muffler baffle limiting RPM. Your muffler is less restrictive, so you should be getting a few more revs up top. Nice Vid. Thanks! I’ve seen that video! I’m still considering options, but after driving it with the stock gearing, I’m pretty happy with it. The more stuff you modify, the less reliable it becomes (at least that’s my experience)

With a smaller 2 stroke and the expansion pipe put boost bottles (expansion intake) and tune the setup, you'll get almost a horse and about 1k rpm more while making better fuel economy and engine longevity

Sweet car man. Been thinking about building one. Just be careful not to keep running the 2 stroke out of fuel....the cylinder and piston relies on the fuel for lubrication. Just an FYI brother. Speaking from experience 🤣

The rampage XB is discontinued, I think. They make a sand dune car based on the same chassis, though. If you want a buggy, you might want to jump on it quick!

@@RCAddictsGarage The Redcat Dunerunner. It is based off of the Rampage MT. Which uses better trans gear plate and diffs. Aluminum diff housing /bulkheads are available for them which really makes them stout. I really like the Dunerunner. Has a long wheelbase. Same as a Losi 5iveT and MTXL.

The carb is tuned for the factory pipe, but you should be fine swapping it over to the JetPro for break-in. Might just have to adjust it a bit.

Nah. She leaves them alone. I wouldn’t let her chase them anyway. They are big and heavy and the exhaust gets crazy hot. I’d be afraid of hurting her if she got in front of the big RCs.

These gas powered ones are much easier to operate and more reliable than a nitro powered rc. It's basically a chainsaw/weed wacker engine. Super easy to maintain seeing it's 2 stroke. Just mix your gas with 2 stroke oil and replace the spark plug once in a while.
