This was my first year doing a fair amount of bed fishing, and that was my experience as well. They'd just swim right back onto their beds after release, so as long as you minimize the amount of time you keep them out of the water the impact is pretty minimal. That’s the main thing I like about bed fishing is the opportunity to put a camera in front of where you know they’ll strike! It’s always interesting to see how they react to lures, and random things like the shadow of a bird flying by I’ve seen startle them off the bed. The craw is definitely deadly that time of year! I tried a worm a few years back and got most of the fish I put it in front of. There were a few that just wouldn’t go for the worm though and it only took a cast or two for a craw to get them to react.
