And now there are no more Giants greats left from the golden era. Orlando last night, Willie from a week ago, McCovey in 2018, and Bobby way back in 2003. They’re all gone now. 😢

I was sent to live in Puerto Rico as a kid, so that I could get a good education, learn the language, and get out of the cold big City for a few years. One day, my 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Cepeda, told the class that we had a special visitor. It was her cousin, Orlando Cepeda. I felt like I was standing in front of a giant tree. He was kind and very humble.

So much grace has left this earth with the passing of these two giants. They absolutely deserve the honors observed by the Giants organization and this city.

What a class act. I met him in the 80's at a San Jose Giants game just watching the game my uncle sent me over to get his autograph. I didn't know who the man was, but he gave me an autograph and was cool about even though I probably interrupted the game being a dumb kid 😂 RIP Mr. Cepeda

My brother follows baseball better than I do, he pointed out to me that the San Francisco Giants in the early 1960s had a slew of emerging latin players that included Orlando Cepeda, Juan Marichal and brothers Felipe, Matty and Jesus Alou.

What a rough couple of weeks for Giants fans. First Mays now Cepeda. In 2018 it was McCovey. What's next is Marichal going to pass soon. All the great San Francisco Giants we are losing.
