GWS play like millionaires.. and thats been their problem from day one. They all like doing the flashy stuff, but when it comes down to the meat and potatoes they get found out. If you are 44 points up and lose something has gone wrong with your defensive setup and given its happened a few times this year, either players are ignoring it, or the game plan simply doesnt stand up. If they cant sort that out they arent going to progress to that final day in September. Mick Malthouse at the Eagles had all the offensive talent in the world, but he insisted on a defensive game plan.. the Eagles would get a two goal lead and just strangle the opposition like an anaconda.. man on man across the field, turn it into a dogfight, .. when teams were forced to take risks the Eagles would bury them on turnovers. The 94 grand final is the best example of this. Eagles would apply relentless defensive pressure till a crack appeared and the dam wall would break.... Karl Langdon is a player nobody at GWS would have heard of, and he didnt have as much talent as half the GWS players have in their little fingernail.. but Karl Langdon is a premiership player... and guess who aint??

Kane, you’ve summed up the Hawthorn victim mentality perfectly. As an Eagles member, I was hoping for Port to lose so we could potentially get Hinkley as our coach; this just makes me like him even more. He did the right thing by standing up for his club and has nothing to apologise for. As for Hawthorn, I had a tremendous amount of respect for them and especially Sam Mitchell but that’s gone down the drain now. Mitchell, Sicily and all those former Hawk pundits should hang their heads in shame for their “woe is me” attitude. Sam Mitchell is the biggest hypocrite because he repeatedly enabled and supported Ginnivan’s behaviour which has now cost them a potential Premiership. They dished it out but couldn’t take it. If you're a WC fan why would you want Hinkley? 12 years of over promising but under delivering has probably got a lot to do with his fragile mentality. Just doesn't know when the time is right. Had the opportunity to let his team bathe in the glory of a hard fought semi final win but chose to make it all about himself. The players never exchanged words, but the coach who's supposed to lead by example couldn't control his emotions. Is that what you want? How would he react in a GF? Hawthorne’s reaction to Hinkley’s cheeky taunt was embarrassing. Sam has been a level-headed coach throughout the year but to assert Hinkley was being aggressive to a Hawthorne player namely Ginny is pathetic and refusing to have a conversation with opposition coach is weak. Captain of Hawthorne (Sicily) behaved like a petulant child on the verge of crying after they (Hawthorne) experienced some discipline. Hinkley’s taunt of an immature player should be celebrated but instead he’s portrayed as a villain. AFL personalities need to stop making conflicting statements. Hawks couldnt handle the heat so had to get out of the kitchen, on and off the field. No issues with Sicily standing up for his guy, but Sam Mitchell's post game comments were weak as piss. Also great work from Hawthorn at retaining the 'clutch your head' coaching sessions so well
@munkybizniss63484 ай бұрын
Give it a week and Port Adelaide supporters will be calling for Hinkley to be sacked all over again. The bloke is an emotional wreck because his own supporters have been tearing him to shreds for the better part of 5 years. He'll most likely cop a wack of 20-50k from the AFL for carrying on the way he did. Let your players do the verbal, you're a coach Ken. It's also quite silly to be completely silent on it all week and then only say something once you win.

Ken is the one that needs to toughen up. Overreacting to a bit of banter between ginni and his former team mate then making a fool of himself by taunting an opposition player after winning. Ken is weak and had no class. No wonder they've never made a GF under his coaching.

Cry-baby Ken was blubbering after beating a Bottom 4 team this year after his own fans booed him off the ground. And the other coaches wrapped their arms around Poor Ken. And how does he respond after Mitchell warmly congratulated him? By sneaking behind Mitchell's back and mouthing off to a 21 year-old. Nothing but a choke artist and blame-shifter who will find any number of excuses as he can't get a stacked team to the finish line next week. A loser as a player, coach and a man.

@sonjakozman1699 Hinkley cried after beating a Bottom 4 side, so that's not really the insult you think it is. Kenny will choke next week while Chris Davies, Kane and Caro will run interference for Poor Kenny, blaming the cattle and not the emotionally fragile coach.
