Its easy to see why Collingwood got rid of him.

Provocation has to be in the moment, and in the actual moment there wasn't any. Ken saw fit to single out a junior player - after a ultra close semi, during a 300th celebration, - and have a go at him. Gini was a flog for posting but surely it's not that serious? To think Ken walking over is justified requires you to think ginis comment to be sufficiently provocative days later, for Ken to be validly hurt. How soft is this bloke?

Hodge's comment at 26:40 are so important..... FREE THE PLAYERS UP...!!! The game needs less structure and more football. More marking players free to leave the set zone and MARK THE BALL. More footballers with good hands and a football brain to link up with their running team mates. Less defensive cheating. No deliberate blocking ( an illegal shepherd ). No tackling the player BEFORE he takes posession. Bring back the bounce the ball every 10 metres ( and / or every 4 steps ). Pay the tackle....... If you don't want to be tackled, then get rid of the ball quicker. If too much pressure to take posession then tap the ball to advantage or thump it to your teams advantage. Drop the socialist draft and let the teams keep older players in the reserves as back ups if needed ( thru key injuries ) and to teach the young bubble heads how to play. Make the umpires READ the rule book and umpire by those rules. No more telling the umpires how to CHEAT. Gotta be at least a million Aussies would accept an umpires job for $5,000 a week......and we know the umpires are paid more than that. Disect umpire performance the same as the teams and players. If an umpire is not up to it, or cheats too often, then STOP protecting them. Send them back to the country to umpire the U15's for a massive pay cut. Sack the board members actively destroying the game and the rules. Warn the board members for passively sitting back and going with the flow. The AFL has NO mandate to destroy Aussie Rules Football with constant unecessary rule changes and umpire inteference and manipulation . UMPIRE the game by the rules in The RULE BOOK......not the dictates of crooked DICTATORS with power in the AFL and clubs.

If anything, the way the media has used a non event to sell media space is definite a breach of the old privacy and Royal Mail legislation, and should still be considered the private property of Ginnivan and his mate . The media beat up should see media company's charged and hit with heavy fines as a first offence and loss of media licence if NOT a first offence. Editors and producers should be sacked and forbidden to work in those professions for a set period.....like a 2 or 3 year ban. The reporters who are clearly ambulance chasing should be sacked by their media employer, then fined in court, and warned of possible jail time for further offences of disrespecting another persons privacy. Now the football side..... What Ginny wrote made no difference to the outcome of the football match. Port turned up to play having been stung into action by Geelong. The young Hawthorn team failed to absorb the intense pressure Port put on them.....but they still played okay and kept trying. AFL must set the example for all junior leagues around the country. We already know how many incidents occur at junior leagues, especially around finals and with emotional parents and coaches. There needs to be clear boundaries and having an oppo coach direct strong words at an opposition player after the siren is not on. Allowing this invites escalation to all in brawls. I thought Ken should’ve just let it go, they won the game, be humble in defeat and move forward, as a Hawk I didn’t like Ginny’s comment purely because this game is about being respected by you foes and you don’t win any respect by being disrespectful even if it was a innocent comment. With Ken provoking things then you have Sicily who’s a hothead at the best of times, and remembering he’s highly emotional after the siren after losing and missing that shot for goal, so he didn’t help the situation by standing up for his mates so he should have just let it go as well. These clubs are close knit and have the attitude that it’s us against them, they keep things in house but I’d be disappointed with Hawthorn if nothing has been said to Jack behind the scenes, knowing full well it should have been nipped in the bud before the game. When push came to shove particularly at the end of the game it was Port who were more motivated to win, and that’s where the 1% extra you’re looking for was gifted to Port from Jack. Disappointing way to end such an incredible run.

I dont think Ken should've got fined at all but I've some issue with Kane's own hypocrisy (i also think the former hawks players overreacted). But all week Kane was saying the reason Ginnivan shouldn't have gone to the bar or commented on social media is because it creates a distraction for his teammates. When the texts and calls came in they were all saying its the media the perpetuates the story and thats the distraction, the feedback also said its good theatre but telling Kane to get over it but he insisted its a negative story and arrogant to comment on socials. Now with Ken he's saying its good theatre and he's not acknowledging how much of a distraction its become going into even more important prelims. I personally honestly have no issue with any of it and I do think its great theatre and fun but Kane's inconsistency here is showing

There was nothing nasty about what Ken did. He done it as a typical jokey sledge back in good spirit. Ginnivan wouldnt of cared, im sure he didnt take it offensively. It shouldnt be this big of a deal. And the media people that are critizing Ken need to take a deep breath and get a grip

So lets normalize senior coaches heckling and provoking opposition players ? Is this healthy and something that one day will get out of hand. If this happened when I was playing it would of turned into an all in , with Hinkley getting a smack in the mouth. Hinkley has apologized and realized it was juvenile behavior unbecoming of a senior coach.

The elders of the Hollywood Hawks are elitist grumpy old men. This lot taking the moral high ground is the embarrassment overall.

The reason why you wanna leave it on the field Hodgy is because you were as dirty as they come and it's easy to avoid the repercussions when it's "left on the field"

It's like players that signed a few years back on long term want to re new the contract half way because they deserve more if you compare to others. Very true so I would suggest is have a contract every three years, and that way you can make more that you deserve on form. Unless your Andrew Mac and take the chocolates before he even has done the consistent body of work on and off the field. The AFL has given the suns more salary room and surely they won't be happy with this one, and Dusty will play for the Suns, his father figure is coach and outside the bubble.

Cornes always protects ol Kenny. No credibility. He puts the boot into anyone on the deck,. But not ol Kenny

I lost all respect for Hodge when he elbowed Murphy flagrantly in the jaw. Even more when he was caught on a hot mic sooking to the umpires about giving a free kick to Ablett Jr. He’s just a bully. And he is a sook. Just like Lewis. Derm the same. These clowns are not examples of good sports. Mitchell sulked like a child tbh. They all broke rules physically but when a coach returns fire saying “nana you lost” they act like a major crime was committed.Weak. All of em. Hypocrites. No respect for any of them and their opinions mean even less to me after seeing em cry like this. Embarrassing.

Good bloke Hodge drink drives a week after one of his assistant coach's sons dies in a car accident. Good bloke Hodge sniped opposition players consistently. His mate Mitchell kneed players when they were on the ground in piss weak fashion. Ginnivan is weak as he takes illicit substances (like good bloke back in the day allegedly).

Kane failed to make a coherent argument about hodges comments on his volcano segment where he relied on actions of clarko to obfuscate the fact Hodge was not the hypocrite Kane dearly wished he was. Hodge ran ring around Kane here Maybe Kane has been getting up too early and needs some sleep.

I think Cornes is very insightful about footy, but I disagree with him about bad manners being good entertainment. Young people need better role models.

So proud of Sam Mitchell, James Sicily, Luke Hodge, Jordan Lewis and the rest of our boys for standing up for this proud club. Hawks are on the move again, cooking something special, setting up for another glorious era. And it's extremely telling, how many people this pisses off. I think people are either jealous or fearful, because we've already made it back to being 1) flag contenders, 2) unliked 3) a destination club for free agents 4) a brilliantly coached team 5) massive energised fan base. Right where we left off 8 years ago. Here we go again. Oh it's gunna be annoying for you all 😂. It's gunna make you angry. It's gunna make you get on KZbin comments boxes and whinge and moan. And it's probably gunna fill the cupboard with cups at Waverly. Bring it!

Kane Cornes has to be the most irrelevant person in the history of sports media….. how does he have a job🤷🏼♂️ Thank god FoxFooty will be commentating the games next season, I don’t watch 7 anyway but hate it when Fox have to broadcast the 7 commentary.
