Giants of the Deep! | Fishing with On Yer Marks TOO | Part 1

Easter weekend sees us make the trip from Newcastle to Ardwell on the Mull of Galloway to pick up Freeliner, my 18ft Raider Fisherman, then onwards from Ardwell to Crinan in search of some spectacular scenery and fish!
First day on which our video is based, is spent with Brad Burrett of On Yer Marks TOO. Exercising his superb knowledge of the area, fish and tactics Brad successfully gives all three of us two fish a piece and some truly memorable experiences. The weather is more than obliging with wall to wall sun, very little wind and millpond sea conditions.

I was out with on yer marks too on Friday last week (21st July) for an 8hr session. It was quite simply the best charter I’ve ever been on - as a disabled angler I find getting a charter I can be comfortable on and be assisted as needed hard to find. Especially when it’s a full boat with half a dozen or so strangers. Not an issue with these guys - just 4 on board + skipper and assisted in any way needed no problem and no grumpy sighs of ‘ffs not again’ type of help. Brandon (is that right or Bradley) not good with names was an absolute pro and put 110% graft in to get us busy catching and gave us superb advice and a new perspective of fishing from a boat. Honestly these guys father and son are the pinnacle of the charters available in the U.K. No moody grumpy attitude at all and really understood and tailored our trip with the needs of myself and daughter in law in mind. Didn’t get to the Tope this time due to weather and us not being totally geared for it ( smart arses here thought we knew better!) but next time …… nonetheless the trip was an absolute success with masses caught and the best laughs had. So if your going to book one trip out this year - go with these guys. I guarantee you won’t regret it and I know you’ll be a returning customer. We will definitely go out with on yer marks (too) again next year 100% for sure. In fact I doubt we will use another - our experience was that great. So if your reading this or anyone can let them know - tell em THANKS SO MUCH for a great day out and soz about that family heirloom that got broken ……. There’s always one - and don’t block our numbers!!

I managed to sort the dongle rig out as the mono doesn't eject out of the trident roto clip, I bought some 7"grip wires off ebay and made some rotton bottoms. With the off cuts I formed a loop in one end and bent the other the shape of a hook, tied it onto 70Ib rig body about 3" from koike 3/0 circle hook knotless knot then put x2 beads and a swivel to make the pulley,the hook on the dongle clips in the roto clip and releases everytime so a job well done just need to get out and try it out 👍

I've handle many cow nose rays and the one time my son went to release it he swung the net near me and it slid in the net the 4 inch barb went thru my arm had to have emergency surgery to save my arm it stopped the blood flow in my arm cut the nerve and tendons the absolute worst pain I have ever experienced I won't ever be close to any stingray again the Dr a cut on the inside and outside of my forearm and it stayed that way for two weeks before the sewed it back together now I have about 60 percent usage of my arm be a year in June that this happened I'll never touch another one
