I think the 80's is when jersey wearing on a mass scale really took off....certainly starter jackets and apparel have a place in 80's NFL fashion also

@@user-dc1dr9kr8x I do not remember Starter jackets being created and becoming a trend in the 1980's. That was t-shirt type jerseys though. Starter jackets for the NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB did not come out til 1992ish.

I was at this game. Giant fans did more to stop the Rams offense than the Giants defense. Final Score Rams 45, Giants 31.

You said it. I saw this game on TV: one of the rare times the Giants looked overmatched. They looked like they were primed for a comeback with that pick six by Pepper Johnson to start the second half, but it never happened. They got the last touchdown though- Simms to Bavaro.

Those were the days… Giants stadium held the noise like no other place… the 80’s and 90’s nfc was the best!… giants, skins, eagles, cowboys… rams and niners was the upper tier of football

Yes this was happening from 1983-1988 stopping play because of loud fans. After that they just let them go without stopping play. It comes down to poor sportsmanship, where fans drown out the offense for fear of their D getting beat. Saints fans have done it for years. I love that despite their rude fans the Rams still beat the Giants asses anyway, 45-31.

It wasnt the people it was they were using bells whistles and anything they could find to make noise. If you listen to the crowd you can hear people using cow bells to make noise.

Wrong. If the crowd makes the game uncompetitive, start penalizing the home team 15 yards each time, then start taking away timeouts, then eject players one by one. Time to enforce rules and make them pay. Those aren't fans - they're lazy scum.

The only time that it ever gets this loud is in college football now. It doesn't even get close to this loud in the current NFL. Maybe Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. That's probably the toughest place to win a pro football game nowadays.

How could you (the away team) POSSIBLY try to quiet the HOME TEAMS CROWD ?!?! At least when Manning did it he was on his own turf. This is just ridiculous. The defense doesn't know the snap count. If the DT is offside, that's a visual miscue. The crowd had nothing to do with it.

I enjoyed Jim Everett when he was with the Rams, but this is pathetic on his part. Go to the silent count and make a play if you want to shut them up. Complaining to the referees is such a weak move. You're one of the top professional athletes on the planet, act like it.

The giant fans should have started dropping ram fans till the game continued. Then when ram fans started yelling "why" the giant fans would simply reply " blame your QB for delaying".

To those who don't like this rule. Why not just let the drunks come on down and make a tackle. This is delay of game. It is interference. It backfired on the home team.
