Gibbons v. Ogden | BRI's Homework Help Series

Gibbons v Ogden was a Supreme Court case dealing with interstate commerce. Learn about Aaron Ogden, who in 1824 received a monopoly over steamboat access to the Hudson River thanks to a newly created New York law in this Gibbons v Ogden summary. On the other hand, Thomas Gibbons held a federal license to operate his steamboat between New York and New Jersey. Gibbons won unanimously through his connection of the Interstate Commerce Clause and Supremacy Clause. New York’s law was overturned and Gibbons, along with other steamboat operators were able to participate in Interstate Commerce via waterways.

Vedika Pandey can just read the case for that lol. Tbh I feel this is best used to have a sort of understanding or outline to go off of that will help with reading the case that has all the details. It’s not supposed to be a replacement for reading it

This was a great video, very informative. But i had to leave a dislike because my honors government teacher is a horrible person. She gave us 3 formative assesments, 9-14 pages each, and a test, all the week before christmas break, and she also hasn't graded 8 of her previous assignments either. And the best part is other honors government classes don't even have to do this work, it is just for her classes. So great video but I had to dislike out of my dislike for Kimberly Barben, as she is the one who told me to use my free time at home to watch and take notes on this video.
