I have GibbsCam since 1998. Interface 1 is fine for 2 D milling but I never got to manage Interface 2. I have spent a lot of time trying the exercises but never got it to work out, it never comes out like it is supposed to.

How do you get to that dark blue background? Every time I open it it's in the lighter blue viewing mode.

This drawing does not represent the part. At the second .25 fillet when you draw the circle in place of the dimensions provided, the cricle and parallel line do not intersect therefore the connect feature will not connect the two entities. this drawing in other words cannot be drawn according to your numbers per the print.

Gibbscam is a good software . The real big problem is the customer support and the sales people from the so called "authorized sales reps " don't really care about the customer . They are just there to sell you a software and give you a crash course training. Let's say for example you are a machinist and you know for example Mastercam. Get ready because it will be a rude awakening. Both softwares work different. Both will get the job done . But coming from my background of 20 years plus. And working for many different companies. And having to try to learn more than 6 softwares . It becomes so complicated. It' is better off in my opinion if you are good in one particular software . Then if you get a new job offer and if they have a different software. Make sure you know that the learning curve will be tremendous. Sales people don't care about "you" . All they are interested is in to charge your company 500 dollars or more to learn the software on a daily basis at the authorized reseller office. In summary unless you are a computer geek or have using many different programming softwares and know them all really well . Walk away from that job offer because you will regret it the rest of your machinist career. Stick to what you know ! If you know Gibbscam....Then only take job offers in Gibbscam. If you know Mastercam do the same .

Is it possible to draw a part made from angle iron in this software? I personally find Gibbscam nearly impossible to use unless youre drilling a hole otherwise it is practically useless.

The 2.5" diameter was missed and this part doesn't actually represent the drawing. Good tutorial other wise.
