I’m blown away by the differences, ceramic sounds so perfect

It’s pretty wild to just hear how obvious the differences are. I’m pretty sure you’ve shaken up the entire beatle tone chaser world

Ceramic is the real deal. I next preferred the Tusq overall - close to original, yet good sounding. The Reissue is OK, but I preferred the Tusq. Bone comes in last on my scorecard. Sometimes it was close, but overall not the right sound - good, but not what you are looking for. I had one of those ceramic saddles on a Gibson LG-0 model. So long ago, I cannot say how it sounded, but it is a small body, more like a concert size than a dreadnought size - all mahogany body, top and all. Played more like a truck with medium gauge strings than a car with lighter strings. I would have set it up very differently today. Still, that ceramic saddle was a big feature in how it looked and sounded. Just saying. Nice vid, but you did not indicate your take in an obvious way ... interesting finish. Thanks. JR

I was surprised how much I didn't like the bone. But when you think about it is almost something a Beatle fan would never use on this guitar in particular. We buy this guitar because it has that certain sound which isn't the normal acoustic sound most other people desire. I hate the tusk usually. Ceramic belongs on a j-160e. Your vid confirmed why for me.Great job as usual!

Agree! Thanks Perry!!

Ceramic crushes this shootout but Tusq aftermarket is a great option for cost-performance and availability. For me: Ceramic>Tusq>Philly Bone >Gibson stock

You’ve done it again, Paul! Now I want to try a Gibson acoustic with a ceramic saddle… Personally, I think the reissue saddle. I like bone typically for acoustics. Now the ceramic had the sound, but the reissue seemed to be a nice compromise between the two.

I've been down this rabbit hole! Only close ceramic I've seen is out of Japan, but sold out for years. There was a rumour that Music City Bridge will come out with one. Your finding an original is becoming very uncommon!

Blue-G! They were making them years ago. I wish they still were. I’ll keep an eye out for music city!

The ceramic and the reissue are pretty close to one another and the the tusq and bone are similar to each other. I like the ceramic or the reissue as the winners.

Another amazing comparison Paul! Crazy how even the bridge saddle can affect the tone. Definitely reckon the ceramic was my favourite sounding followed by the bone, although I do reckon the tusk sounded the closest to the ceramic.

Thanks Luke! And same here I never thought it would have had that much of a difference in sound.

The bone really did sound great! In person it had a lot more low end and had a nice full sound.
