I'll take both. One is not better than the other, they are both great for different reasons. I personally will be getting an R8 very shortly, almost done paying it off. I can't wait! A 335 has its glory too and you can't go wrong with either one. Nice playing, showing what they each can do.

yesss... They are both glorius guitars. Each has its own character.

I've said it again i'll say it once more. You have one of the best home tones I have ever heard Regarding the guitars I always go for the 335 between those two, this is the case here too LP a bit too much mids for my liking, still awesome

great playing! thinking of trading my r8 for a es-335 but I'm having second thoughts.. i have 2 other les pauls (p90 and one 1977 standard).. so was thinking of trading the r8 to a 335.. what do you think? What pickups are in the 335?

Hello. That all depends on how good is your r8.. Do you like your 77 more than your r8? A 335 is a must have if you like blues/rock( even jazz of course...) It's very versatile guitar. The only small drawback of the 335 is its body size...(unless you're a big man😉) it looks a bit weird on stage...

@@yoctanuri Hey man thanks for the quick reply. The r8 is actually quite nice and it has the most vocal mids of all the 3.. although I think a pickup change in the 77 can remedy the sound of it. The 77 is actually not bad, it just has a different voice due to the t-tops in it. I've had 2 335s before (a Larry Carlton and a dot), but I stupidly sold them off thinking that I preferred single coils. Since I've been on a PAF hunt currently, I've learned to appreciate the PAF tone (single coilish) a lot now. Was thinking of getting a PAF set for the 77 and get a 335 in place of the r8 (but I might regret this). And yes, I agree that it looks weird on stage with such a big bodied guitar lol!! Since I'm not a big dude I totally get you on that hahaha! But if I was going to just use it at home.. and maybe to complete the rig somehow. You know what I mean.. hahaha hmmmmmm gosh hahaha PS. My r8 has burstbuckers 1/2. What's the pickups in your 335 btw?

@@creamroller Hi .If you decide to sell your R8, You know that you can always sell your 335 and go back to a r8( maybe even r9) make sure you buy the 64/63 reissues not the standard dot.. that's a different guitar my friend.. ( I owned and sold a standard red dot flamy 335 because it wasn't that good...)

@@yoctanuri alright man! Thanks for the suggestion. Ill look into the 63/64. Love the block inlays on those! I'm assuming this is custom shop. I had a regulat DOT, and i agree it wasnt that good either. Had a flamey top as well, but the neck and pickups were mehhh. Got it cheap with a repaired headstock. The Carlton was way better.

I don’t think there’s much versus to it . They both sound a lot alike to me. The R8 a little brighter maybe. They both drive great Gibson blues tone.

In the room the R8 was louder and have a bit more gain, but they are almost identical..

Of course the LP has thicker and bigger tone but both guitars are amazing.
