Gibson Les Paul Tribute DISCONTINUED!?!

It would be a shame if so because I have a 2020 Tribute, I purchased in 2021, and to be honest... It is better than some more expensive Les Paul's I have played. I purchased it as my 1st Gibson because it was affordable. Once I played it I knew it was my new #1 guitar. The weight, and feel of the neck are perfection and the pick ups give me just what I need. I do play in a band and she is a real workhorse that has yet to fail me. I absolutely love my Tribute.

The tribute has been discontinued. The closest thing you can get now is the studio, the modern series and the arguably the epi custom. Epiphone is the workhorse guitar now. If I was hellbent on getting a Gibson lp in 2024? It would be the studio. The signature models ruined the guitar industry. They gave everyone and their mother one.

2020 Tribute honeyburst left hand. First Gibson, first Les Paul. It's a simple, pretty, American made Gibson with a great feel and an even better sound!!! Love the tribute They (Gibson ) have discontinued these in the past just to revive them again. The 'Tribute' title seems to be the titles given to Gibson's intermittent renderings. Just making a guess from patterns I see with Gibson. In any case... The Gibson Les Paul and SG Tributes are an excellent value for a quality made iconic sounding guitar.

I currently have only one Gibson guitar, a 2011 50's Tribute with a Mahogany neck and a baked Maple fretboard, and I probably won't be buying any more Gibsons. It's a serious and classy sounding instrument, but not exactly "Les Paul"-sounding. I bought it in 2012, when it was pretty cheap. These days, Gibson is simply beyond my price range.

It does make me sad to see the tribute go. I bought my gold top tribute in high school when I was 17. Got it new at guitar center for 900 dollars. Gibson seems to be headed directly for being a luxury brand. I do try to put things into perspective though. Just about any other brand charges 2k+ for any guitar made in the USA. So for Gibson to still have all the models they do under 2k I’d say that’s pretty good.

I'd say epiphone is getting up there in price too. Not a great look, but great guitars none the less

Although I own and record with several different guitars , I always seem to come back to my 1977 Gibson gold top Deluxe . I was lucky enough to purchase it mint for 900 dollars in 1985 when the popular guitars at the time were makes like Bc Rich , Jackson , Kramer . Now the price of this guitar on sites is outrages because of the cost of the materials used to make a guitar of this quality is ridiculous . The upside is Gibson has found way's to cut some corners to make some really fine guitars for less . I'm looking at the Japanese alternatives and loving the QUALITY and the PRICE . Tribute model kind of sucked anyway. Everytime I play one I think they shouldnt have gibson on the headstock. Get a studio at least
