Wow...gave me goosebumps dude. Excellent cover.This tune showcases the melodic brilliance of Schenker, he's not trying to melt up the fretboard, just playing tasty & to the point. I remember back in the 80s, this tune actually got a lot of radio play on the local rock station....a better era, better times for sure.It's funny how people complained how they thought the world was crazy then....now look where we're at. Anyhow, tunes like this are immortal & always bring back good memories of how rock music was so innovative back then. Good stuff.

Hi kjell, I would say the 70s V has the edge over the antique natural, it feels more refined. Having said that, the antique has a slightly thinner neck which is very fast. I truly love both guitars but if asked to choose, the 70s white guitar would win.

Hi Mike, I have the antique natural too and its a great guitar! I used a Helix for all the guitar sounds. Brit Bright Marshall plexi and and greenback cab. Rhythm sound i used a boss Ge7 boosted around 800hz to get Michaels hollow sound. The first solo used his favorite trick and signature sound of finding the sweetspot on the dunlop wah and leaving it setin that position. That more than anything gives that distinctive tone. There is fret buzz on the frets. Should I get a setup? The bridge burstbucker is Alnico 2 magnets. Is some cases the pickups get muddy! Have you ever had this problem?
@ChrisVye4 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for liking the vid Angel! Much appreciated! I have had none of the problems you mention with the new V so if its buzzing and not staying in tune, it might be worth popping it back to the place you bought it from for a checkup and setup! Gibson Pickups are not particularly toppy so try different amp settings if its muddy. The sound you hear on this is via a Helix using JCM 800 amp sim and it sounds fairly crisp to me. One thing I always do with gibsons tuning wise, is use some graphite in the nut slots but also on V's I wrap the strings upwards of the post hole to shallow the string angle and I have to say this one stays in tune really great.... persevere its a great guitar and thanks again for commenting!
