Happy NGD David! She’s a beauty! I have one too, and have logged many hours playing in garage bands over the decades. Yep, Leslie West (and his disciple Mick Ralphs of Mott the Hoople and Bad Co.) showed us how to rock these axes!

SAME! Would love a DC, but Gibson is greedy with those now. Sorry yours got away. I let go of a '66 Mustang and a '65 Newport before Reverb. Either would now enable that DC for me. All that said, the SG Junior feels like the modern option that I keep considering. Your video was well appreciated and has gone a long ways towards convincing me. Thanks

Glad you liked the video! If we only could have kept all our guitars, right? :)

Man it almost sounds like a Tele bridge pickup. I have almost bought this exact guitar a few times. Not sure I like the SG shape. I instead got one of the custom shop double cut Jrs and it’s not chimey or twangy like this one. There’s almost no top end. I was really surprised. Maybe my pickup is messed up.
@anotherheadlessdemo6 ай бұрын
I was surprised at how twangy the pickup was when I first plugged it in. I don't remember my vintage double cut sounding like this at all. Your custom shop DC might be closer to the originals. Maybe these SG Jr pickups (or just mine) are the ones that are messed up?!
@ChrisShortyAllenАй бұрын
The SG is more responsive top and middle. Yours might need a new nut.

haha I bought a double cut jr as a christmas gift as well

Hello, I’m from Japan. May I ask how much did you pay for your cook sg jr?

I paid $1200 plus shipping and tax. I think they are around $1600 new.

I'm pretty sure Gibson still makes these, at least they are still on their website.

@@anotherheadlessdemo I've no doubt. But if you shop for a new one, no one has any.
