I really like the blast furnace! I need to make one of those for myself. You should make a blast furnace construction video.

Man, a HUGE thank you to you! I had a cradle failure where my differential front mounting bolt tore the plate off the cradle - the differential rotated down hitting the road, tearing up the drive shaft and tore the rear rubber differential mounts out of the cradle leaving behind the bushing sleeves..... If it wasn't for this video and you showing the bearing driver kit that you used (from h****r f****t) I would have been completely at a loss as to getting the differential bushings and corner cradle bushings out..... (I figured, I have the entire cradle out of the car, might as well upgrade) many thanks!

Any clue what the knuckle bushing part number was?

Major props to you guys. This looks like a pain but you kept going. I don't wanna do this but I probably need to for cradle lockout and body mount bushings.

won't burning the rubber out affect the 'temper' of the steel? And what about the protective painted finish??
@GibsonGarage2 жыл бұрын
Only the two rear most arms were steel and I repainted them I don't think they were hardened so letting them cool down naturally it's just fine. everything else is aluminum

I don't have a burner... So I plan to press a lot of stuff out with a large piece rental tool kit. I also bought a HFT-12T press, but didn't need it for the front. Wish I had the funds to throw a LSD diff in there, but the price escalates quickly with all the necessary parts to make it work properly. I'm very tempted to order the diff bushings and install them while I have everything apart. Also, the bushing that you mention at 20:45. It would be cool if you could throw that part number or a link into the description at top. Awesome ending to the VID!!

Energysuspensionparts.com in the search bar type in bulk-2853 for the bushings and 15.10.520.39 for the sleeve Click the link to see a picture instagram.com/p/CNegL9ygK3a/?igshid=dcfejfgxv2ay

@@GibsonGarage Thank you. I thought that hemispherical joint used a different part. The Insta image looks like another bushing found in the other arm ends. And I just now realized you thought I was talking about the compression arm end. Thanks for the effort (answer)!

Would those adapters for the subframe bushings work with a ball joint press with my air gun? Or would I need to buy a big press like you used?
@GibsonGarage3 жыл бұрын
If you're going to reuse the metal sleeves and keep them in the subframe don't use a press at all and you don't have to melt them all the way out like I did either just take a torch to the outside of the sleeve until it starts to smoke evenly all the way around and you should be able to push the bushing out with a handle of a hammer or something
@GibsonGarage3 жыл бұрын
If you are going to press the sleeves out that would depend on how good your air compressor is and it might be too large for the threaded rod of a bushing press kit
@frankhartford51943 жыл бұрын
I'm thinking of going back with stock or whiteline bushings. I'd rather go the easier route. Mine is also AWD and I'm leaving oem suspension cause it's new. So I wouldn't need the press and my life would be alot easier
